Tsunami POV
Tsunami's laughter stopped instantly, and she glared at Deathbringer. "Fine." She replied curtly, "Just fine."
Deathbringer's eyes narrowed, each dark blue sphere a pool of surprise. Tsunami tried not to think of the argument they had. Tried not to think about her mother's anger. But it didn't work. Tsunami's legs collapsed as her mind got caught into a speeding current of memories.
Her and Riptide kissing.
His claws and tail interlocked with hers.
Queen Coral gliding into the cave.
Her mother thinking he was taking her prisoner.
Tsunami interrupting the chains that were already winding around his snout and talons.
The Queen leaving.
Riptide's confrontation.
"Of course I wouldn't have planned that. I WOULDN'T DO THAT TO YOU!"
Him not believing her.
Tsunami catching up to Coral.
Telling her to take him after all.
Riptide's shock and fear.
The guards towing him away.
Him calling her name, trying to tell her he was sorry.
Her ignoring his cries.
"I'm sorry!"
That last voice wasn't Riptide.
