Chapter 1: Who is this girl?

y/n POV:
"Honey, the new neighbours have moved in! I'm going out to say hi to them so I would appreciate if you came too!" My mom shouted to me. I wasn't particularly interested in meeting them, but mom would get mad at me if I didn't. Oh well! I shouted back down to her, "Coming!" And walked down the spiral stairs to see her waiting at the door for me to come speak to our new neighbours. When I stepped out of the door, the first thing I spotted was a van outside, moving their stuff into the house. It seemed like a lot of it was pink, but I thought nothing of it. We walked closer up to their house, and mom spotted them and waved. I kinda got embarrassed as she over exaggerated that a TAD bit. But, the next thing to spot my eye was a girl. Half of her hair was pastel pink, the other half was dark brown. Her eyes were the prettiest hazel color I've ever seen. To add to this, the large gap in between her teeth made her look so much cuter. I think I was already falling for this girl, and I'd not even spoken to her yet!

The neighbours spotted mom waving and came over to us. The mystery girl followed after what I'd assumed were her parents. Mom greeted them and welcomed them to the neighbourhood, and then she just got carried away talking with them. Seemed like they were getting along! The mystery girl was standing a bit behind her parents, looking down at her phone. I wanted to talk to her, so I did. I walked a bit closer to her as her parents moved away slightly, and I then smiled at her and said "hi" in a bit of a nervous voice.
"Hey, how are you?" She softly said back to me.
"I'm good thanks! So whats your name?"
"My names Melanie, how about you?"
"My names Y/N, it's nice to meet you!"
Melanie. Such a perfect name. It suited her so well! I was definitely falling for her now if I wasn't already! I couldn't wait to get to know her and see if we can become any closer. I was so glad I spoke to her!
