Because of the amount of trends springing up every month, more and more people are paying, from my point of view, too much attention to the clothes they wear.
It's just a hunch and I don't want to accuse anyone or sound rude, but sometimes it seems to me that many of my peers buy their clothes not following their taste, but the taste of others.
Not to be considered as "unfashionable people" they end up wearing clothes they don't even like.
Plus, the price of clothes is something to consider. Exploiting the urge of teenagers to follow the crowd, trendy clothes are obviously more expensive than the ordinary ones, even though they're basically the same in terms of material, durability and so on.
Moreover, people who exaggeratedly heed their look usually tend to pay a lot of attention to the other people's appearance too, and this might lead to an increase in bullying that could be absolutely avoidable by making people remeber that we are all the same and neither poor clothes nor rich clothes can change that.
