Leaning back in my chair I rubbed my eyes, 2015 term 2 is coming to a close, the semester when nothing really happened and nothing really changed. I looked around. My room was a total mess. Books everywhere, clothes everywhere, curtains drawn shut, haven't vacuumed in days. I sigh and lean back towards my laptop. The bright light looming up my room. I've finally finished the draft for my chemistry report, half of the words, though, I still can't understand. I check my phone. No new messages, no missed calls, everyone's probably busy with studying and essays.
I saved and closed my report draft and opened up my English essay. Only half done, and it's the final copy, due next week. 'If I do it know, then I won't have to do it later, but then again,' I thought to myself, 'I just finished a science report draft and my eyes are killing me, I can do it tomorrow.'
I close my laptop and pull out the USB to place back into my pencil case.
I start to pick up my book when, Marcus calls. I unlock my phone and answer, "Marcus! How nice of you to call." I said in a sarcastic tone.
Marcus sighs, "My presence was requested, was it not?" He replied, holding back the urge to laugh.
I chuckle in response.
"I could sense you..." He hesitated, "so desperately in need of my voice."
"That's debatable."
"Whatever."
"Anyway so how's Liana?" I said, pulling a grin across my face.
"Dude, it's so awkward, we try spending time alone but then we quickly run out of things to talk about, my hand starts to sweat when she holds it, and hugging is even worse!"
I tried to hold back my laugh, but it choked out.
"Shut up, it's not funny."
"Yes it is, you guys have been dating for more than a year, haven't kissed yet."
"I can tell that she wants me to kiss her, but, I just can't do it dude." He sighed, then groaned, "Relationships are harder than you know."
"Uh-huh." I chuckled again, "Listen, my mum is calling dinner and she's getting really pissed, I'm gonna go before she drags my ass out."
"Ok, later."
*back at school the next day*
We were all sitting at the table under the trees, Oliver and Frank were in each other's arms, Julian was sketching something down and Marcus and Liana sat awkwardly beside each other. Liana moved in closer and leaned her head on Marcus's shoulder. I grinned over at him and he eyed me and shook his head lightly. I tilted my head towards his girlfriend a couple of times, trying to tell him to make a move. He sighed and shook his head at me again but then wrapped his right arm around Liana's back towards her waist. He looked at me with a questioning look and I shook my head with a smile, he sighed and then picked up Liana's hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. She moved in closer and Marcus tensed up. He then relaxed and tightened his grip on her waist. He looked up at me, eyes wide, I nodded. He sighed again with relief and leaned his head over his girlfriend's.
Laughing silently I nudged Julian and nodded towards Marcus and Liana. He laughed as he clapped, the couple didn't even flinch. "Shut up Julian." Frank called over from behind my back, "Don't spoil the moment dude."
Julian turned his laughter into a sheepish grin while Oliver pulled back Frank.
Liana had her eyes closed and Marcus's were half way there, he gently played with her small fingers when the bell suddenly rang. They both jolted right up, pulling away from each other, blood rushing to their cheeks. Julian snorted with amusement as I sighed. They smiled at each other and then walked away.
"Aw man, I was so close!"
"So close to what?" Oliver asked, as he pulled away from Frank and put his things in his bag.
"To getting them to kiss!"
"They're like your number one OTP aren't they?" Julian budded in, closing his sketch pad.
I laughed in reply, "Nah mate, Johnlock all the way."
