"You're not supposed to be here. Go away!" Brightpaw growled. "Or I'll—"
"Brightpaw!" A tall she-cat padded forward. Her dark brown pelt silver in the moon.
Brightpaw whipped around, eyes wide. "Beechfur! I found intruders."
Featherheart shook his head. "We're not intruding." he objected. "We're passing throu-
gh."
Beechfur lashed her tail. "Then move along then."
"Y-yeah!"
Pinefrost whipped around and padded over to the Thunderpath. What is he doing? He followed Pinefrost to the side of the path. Suddenly, Pinefrost launched himself. His muscles bunched and stretched once he took a massive leap. Pinefrost rolled onto the grass on the other side, waiting for Featherheart.
Beechfur and Brightpaw looked blankly at the two. Sighing, Featherheart went next. Featherheart leaped onto the path, barely missing a huge monster. The monster was bigger than a normal monster, it let out a deep yowl that made Featherheart's ears hurt.
It had a big mesh behind it, made of wood. Featherheart crouched down as it ran
under him, he kept still under the monster, good thing there's space in here. When the monster went away Featherheart leaped onto the grassy clearing.
"I thought it killed you," Pinefrost gasped when Featherheart came.
"They wouldn't dare." Featherheart panted. "Come on."
Featherheart trotted through the yellow forest. He recognized scents of cats, Featherh-
eart crouched down, flicking his tail telling Pinefrost to come. A slender tom had appeared, rabbit in his mouth.
Featherheart crawled closer. Belly fur brushing the brown floor. The tom had no idea t-
hey were there. By now, Featherheart would have noticed the cat scent, unlike the tom. Pinefrost stepped on a twig and the tom's ears pricked. Quickly, the cat ran as fast as ever.
Featherheart leaped out of the brambles. Ignoring the thorns. Featherheart raced after the slender cat. The tom ran and ran, Featherheart and Pinefrost at its heels.
The tom turned around, dropping the rabbit. "What do you want?" He hissed.
Featherheart flinched, the cat sounded weird, as if they weren't from here.
"I sound weird don't I?" He snarled. "Well I was not from around here. Okay? I moved
here when I was a kit. That's why I sound weird. Now tell me what do you want?"
"Have you seen a light ginger she-cat with white for her chest and belly?" Featherheart asked. "Maybe even a black tom?"
"Oh yes, they passed here moons ago." He replied. "My friends know them. Want to speak to them?"
Featherheart nodded hastily, while Pinefrost stiffened. The cat led them to an
abandoned Twoleg nest not far off, half of the walls were torn and piles of rocks lay on the woody and broken ground. In the distance, there were a few nests, thick and fluffy. A she-cat who was dark gray and white she-cat with a pale ginger one not far off.
"Featherpaw is that you?" She gasped. "You're so big."
Featherheart licked his chest fur embarresly, he remembered when he helped carry the she-cat's kits—Dove was the she-cat's name. And the tom beside her was Talon. "It's Featherheart. I'm deputy of CliffClan now."
