Third person POV
You and Meliodas have been fighting out in the human world for just over 2 weeks. The war was long and cruel but thanks to you the number of casualties for the demon race has gone down dramatically. As for the other 4 races they are in time of unprecedented loss. You feel as though now may be the time to close in on stigma, but Meliodas has other plans.
Y/N POV
"Why do you want me to lead everyone back without you" I question my husband. He was wanting me to lead our forces back home so that we may gather more troops for our attack on stigma.
"Because I have some things to take care of here, but I promise as soon as I can I'll join back up with you all" he said to me.
"Well I bet whatever you're doing would go a lot quicker if you had some help" I told him
"why do you want to do whatever it is you're doing alone" I questioned him. "It's dangerous out there and you are on the top of list of targets for stigma"
"Listen baby, I know. I know the dangers and I know you're worried and I know you're just acting out of concern but it will be fine, I will be fine. Just trust me" he pled with me.
"I do trust you, but I still don't like the idea of leaving you alone" I pouted at him.
He laughed a little bit and came closer to me placing his hand on my cheek. I leaned into it. "It'll be a day two days tops. Then I'll go catch up to you and if I don't then we'll meet back in purgatory"
I sighed "fine but if you don't make it back I'm marching an army straight to stigma and burning the whole thing to the ground"
He chuckled at me and pulled me into an embrace "I would expect nothing less"
~the next day~
"So I'll see you in a day" I say to Meliodas.
"Or two, or in purgatory" Meliodas reminded me.
"And you're sure you don't want anyone to go with you" I asked him one last time.
"Yes I'm sure" he said to me before pulling me into a goodbye kiss. As he parted from me he turn around and summoned his darkness wings. I watched as he flew far from me and out of view.
"Y/N" I heard someone call me out of my daze. I turned to find it was Monspeet. "We have to get going"
"Yes you're right" I tell him as I turn to lead us back towards home.
A day passes, then two and still Meliodas has not caught up with us. I'm worried for him but I have to make it back to purgatory. It's a long trek for we had marched deep into the human world in the past few weeks, but we were getting close.
I had almost stopped us to make camp for another night when somebody shouted.
"We made it"
Finally, home sweet home I thought to myself.
Being back in purgatory was refreshing, no one trying to kill us at every corner. I felt like I could finally let my guard down a little.
I summoned my darkness wings and flew straight up to the castle. The demon king would be expecting Meliodas to come and update him on the war, but unfortunately he still has not made it back to us.
As quickly as I can I make my way to the kings throne room. I stop at those massive French doors and collect myself before knocking.
"You may enter" the king spoke.
I walked in and bowed "where is my son" He questioned.
"He said that he had some business to attend to and insisted that I bring our troops back home alone" I answered him.
"Hmm, and what news of the war have you come to me with" he asked me.
"The other 4 races have been suffering great loss lately and our casualties have been minimal due to those facts Meliodas and I agreed that this would be a perfect time to attack stigma." I tell him of our plan.
"Wow that is very good Y/N, and when do you think this war will be over" he inquired
"Soon after, we believe that some of our vanished comrades are being held there in stigma. It'll be a search and destroy mission" I told him.
"Very good, Y/N" he praised "and will you be waiting for your husband before going on this mission"
"Yes sir we will" I confirmed.
"Hmm, then I suggest you spend your time training and getting all your men ready, it will not be an easy battle" he told me.
"Yes sir" I bowed to him.
"You may exit now" I pick my head up and turn to leave.
I make my way to the chamber that I share with my husband. It had been weeks since I've seen a proper bed. Once I enter the room I flop onto the bed and instantly feel at home. I fall asleep quickly hoping that when I awake Meliodas will be back.
Meliodas POV
I hope you can forgive me Y/N
"Don't take this personally, Calmadios"
"Sir Meliodas?" Calmadios speaks for the last time.
"Now FULL COUNTER!"
"Did that finally do it?" Droll asked
"Oh yeah, pretty sure we got rid of him that time" I said.
Y/N POV
I woke up to a knock on my door.
"Mmmmm" was my response.
"Lady Y/N, the king has requested your presence at once" a hand maid opened my door and encourages me up and out of bed.
What could have possibly happened while I was sleeping I thought to myself.
I got to the giant French doors and didn't even bother knocking for I was still rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"Good morning my lord" I say to the king with a bow. I also bow towards Zeldris and Estarossa who are in the throne room with us.
"I have called you all here to give you some horrible and unbelievable news" he stares straight at me "I am sorry to inform you but Meliodas has betrayed the demon race"
"What" Zeldris speaks first "that's impossible"
"It seems that way doesn't it, but I just received word that he has slain not one but 2 of the 10 commandments"
I can't believe my ears. This has to be some kind of crazy messed up dream. Meliodas wouldn't do something like that.
"Why" I asked "how could he do such a thing"
"Well..." the king hesitated "we think for a woman, a goddess woman"
"WHAT!" I yell "he's married" I say with tears in my eyes.
"Collect yourself child" the kings says to me. I take a deep inhale through my nose and let it out through my mouth.
"Good" he says "we mustn't let this slow us down you were planning on attacking stigma soon and I want you to stay on schedule"
"But who will lead us" I questioned
"You will" the king answered "and Zeldris will accompany you, do you think you can handle that?" He asks me.
"Oh yeah. I'll burn that place to the ground along with every single goddess I can get my hands on, it's gonna be a blood bath" I tell him using all my grief and turning it to anger.
"Good, you'll leave first thing tomorrow" the king told us
