Bella's POV:
He and his family came back, but I just didn't see him in the same way I used to anymore. It was so confusing for me, but I shrugged it off because I thought it would eventually pass once I got over the pain due to their abrupt departure. Even Rosalie leaving hurt despite her not being happy of me in her family's vampire world. Too late to turn back now since I was already being hunted by James before he died and now Victoria to avenge him. Edward is so damn selfish for not wanting to turn me into one of them. I knew that it would be a difficult year after my transformation since I would be a Newborn, but hoped that Edward would change his mind so I can protect myself against Victoria. He's so damn stubborn, but I'm not giving up. The family would help me if I had any problems. I just wish we could have gotten to know each other better.

The microwave beeped to let me know my food was heated up, so I carefully got it out and grabbed a soda from the fridge before going to the living room. It was Friday night and I had the house to myself since Charlie was on a weekend fishing trip with Billy, so he wouldn't be back until Sunday night. While I ate my dinner, eventually I found something to watch on tv. When I was done, I turned it off and put my plate in the dishwasher.

My phone rang. Alice.

"Hey, can you come over here real quick?"

"Sure. I'll be there in about 10 minutes." I hung up and got in my truck, driving towards the Cullen house and parking my car in the driveway. Once I got out of the car, I felt someone watching me, but I ignored it. Everyone turned to me as I walked in the mansion.

"Hey, Bella." Alice smiled at me. I nodded in acknowledgement and turned to Carlisle and Esme with a raised eyebrow.

"We are going to vote on you being one of us." The former explained as I nodded. "You are like a daughter to us, so my answer is a yes." Esme nodded in agreement.

"Yes." Esme smiled.

"I vote hell yeah." Emmett hugged me. "We can deal with the Volturi some other way." I laughed and he let go.

"It would be better if I didn't have to worry about killing you all the time." Jasper looked at me. I really wish I had the chance to get to know her better. Maybe when she's one of us, I will be able to. I raised an eyebrow and shook my head, wondering how I was able to do that.

"I wouldn't choose this if I had a choice, so no." Rosalie had a blank expression.

"I already consider you my sister." Alice smiled.

Edward shook his head and crossed his arms.

"Looks like my vision will work." The little pixie replied before she got a vision and didn't say anything when she got out of it.

"What did you see?" Jasper replied, looking at her as everyone else did.

"Just a sale at the mall." She smiled. Jasper raised an eyebrow, but nodded. I wonder what that was about, but I guess I will find out later.

"Thank you, guys." Most of them nodded, except Rosalie and Edward. "I should be getting home before it's late."

"Maybe someone should go with you since Victoria is still out there." Carlisle suggested.

"I'll be fine, but thanks anyways." I saw Jasper look at me and felt his eyes on me as I walked out of the house, which made me wonder if I really did hear his thoughts. I was so confused, but I needed to figure it out.

I drove off and went back home, still feeling like someone is watching me and hoped it wasn't Victoria at all. Maybe I should have had someone take me home, but I wanted to be more independent without the Cullen's help. I'm happy they care, but protecting me 24/7 isn't going to help much when they have to hunt, Jasper, Alice, Rosalie, Emmett and Edward have school while Carlisle has to work. All I had to do is call them and they would be over here faster than I would think possible.

I turned off my truck and walked inside the house, wondering how I could find out what happened when Edward is out of the house or something. I didn't want him to overhear anything until I found out for sure. Thankfully, he can't read my mind, but he would keep on asking me what I was thinking about until I told him. Lying seemed like the best option, so I decided to go with that if he asks.

I shut my window and went to sleep. The next morning was spent with me sleeping in, but someone kept on calling me. I answered the phone, annoyed. "What?" I asked, not even bothering to look at the caller Id.

"You shut me out last night." Edward's voice rang in my ear. I could tell that he was worried, but also a little bit angry and hurt.

"Excuse me if I want some independence." I told him.

"Victoria is still out there somewhere and we need to keep you safe." I rolled my eyes, annoyed. While I knew Victoria was still out there, I also knew that he was acting as if he owned me and needed me by his side 24/7. "What do you mean by that?" He asked, caught off guard.

"You don't own me and can't tell me what to do or anything. I'm not your own property you can control." Angry, annoyed and confused, I hung up on him. Tired of how he treats me, I grabbed my keys and left after locking the door. Without knowing where I was going, I drove off.

Awhile later, I found a small area which has been abandoned. It was a little far away from my house, but I didn't care. I got out of my truck and walked around. It was green and there was a waterfall in the middle of it. After I tried clearing my head and was about to leave, I heard something and decided to hide in case it was Victoria even though nothing would stop her from killing me unless the Cullen's came to my rescue.
