When I was younger I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind.
He broke his own heart and I watched
As he tried to reassemble it.
And my momma swore
That she would never let herself forget.
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love i...

Todd and I sat in his and Neil's dorm, working on our poems for tomorrow's class.
I was wearing one of Neil's sweaters and it was basically a dress on me.
"How's your poem going Toaster?" I asked my best friend.
"It's going. What about yours?" He asked.
"Same... but it's more of a song than just a poem."
"Can I hear?" Todd came over sitting on Neil's bed with me.
"OK. Just don't laugh at me." I pointed at him as he chuckled.
"I won't." Todd gave me a pinky promise.
"OK." I cleared my throat.
"Maybe I know, somewhere Deep in my soul, that love never lasts And we've got to find other ways To make it alone, but keep a straight face And I've always lived like this Keeping a comfortable distance And up until now, I had sworn to myself That I'm content with loneliness Because none of it was ever worth the risk." I sang quietly.
Looking at Todd, he had a smile on his face.
"That song is really amazing." I smiled.
"Thank you." I told him.
An angelic voice started yelling down the hall.
"I got the part!" Todd and I looked at each other.
Neil pounded on Charlie's door.
"Charlie I got the part!"
"I'm gonna play Puck! I'm gonna play Puck!" He cheered as Todd and I stood at the door.
"What did he say?" Meeks asked.
"The main part!" Neil cheered.
"Great Neil!" Knox said.
"Charlie I got it!" Neil came back this way.
"Congratulations." Cameron said.
"Good for you! Neil! Good for you!" Charlie said as Neil turned to Todd and I.
"I got the part!" He said as I smiled.
"Congrat--." I was cut off by him pulling me in for a kiss.
It caught me by surprise to say the least since no one knew yet.
"Yo! when did this happen?" Charlie yelled.
Neil than pulled away smiling at me before taking us back into the dorm, Todd followed.
"Neil, how are you gonna do this?" Todd asked as Neil sat down at his desk.
"They need a letter of permission from my father and Mr Nolan." Neil replied as he started typing on his typewriter.
