An Unexpected Visit

"all right" James got up and Sirius followed. 

They went down the stairs to the kitchen quietly, they saw a cake and looked at each other, "we can't eat that it's for tomorrow!" James exclaimed, 

"what's tomorrow?" Clara asked him,

"your birthday idiot!" He laughed,

"oh! I forgot!" Clara giggled,

"me too" Sirius mumbled, he was sad he hadn't gotten her a gift, although he knew Clara wouldn't mind in the slightest. 

"I know I'll double it!" Clara piped up,

"are you mental?" "It's your birthday cake for tomorrow, you're going to eat it tonight?" James ridiculed.

"Well I mean it is my birthday today, since it's after twelve!" She pointed out,

"we can just have these" James got three cupcakes from the cupboard,

"alright" Clara shrugged as he handed her a cupcake,

"it's so good" Sirius commented as he took a bite. Suddenly, a bright white light entered the kitchen, 

"ahem" they turned around to see Mrs. Potter standing in her dressing gown,

"oh hello mum! Care to join us?" Clara joked,

"yes please!" Mrs. Potter burst into laughter and grabbed a cupcake, the three laughed at Mrs. Potter's reaction, and continued eating their cupcakes.

Five minutes later...

They all finished their cupcakes and told Mrs. Potter goodnight and walked back up the stairs. Clara went to her room and grabbed a sleeping bag she had, and her wand, she went back to James's room for their Annual Birthday Sleepover they had been doing since they were seven. 

"I'm here!" Clara walked in his room happily, she saw Sirius sitting in a corner and looked back at James, 

"I can leave if you want" he said getting up,

"oh no Sirius! That wasn't what I meant, sorry" she laughed, he smiled and sat back down, Clara began setting up her sleeping bag and sat beside James and Sirius on the carpet. "James you're gonna need your cauldron" Clara grinned, James got up excitedly and got his cauldron,

"what are we brewing?" Sirius looked over at Clara's book, she smiled evilly and hid her book, 

"it's a surprise" she grinned. 

"We're gonna need fluxweed, knotgrass, lacewing flies, and leeches" Clara said looking at her book while Sirius and James looked around the room for ingredients, 

"we have everything but leeches" James told her when they had gathered all the ingredients they found, 

"but that's only the first part!" Clara groaned,

"oh! What are we brewing?" James sat curiously next to Clara,

"nevermind it, it won't work" she got up frustrated, James and Sirius looked at her as she aggressively snatched her book and put it in her bag, then zipped open her sleeping bag muttering, "the stupid thing...can't work when I need it...stupid" she laid down and started reading her book, the two boys looked at each other and grinned. 

A few seconds later, "AHHHH!" Clara started screaming, "THERE'S SOMETHING IN THERE!" She pointed inside her sleeping bag as she got out of it staggering, she looked at James, "DO SOMETHING YOU BAFFOON!" Clara started hitting him with her book, 

"I'll take care of it" Sirius walked towards the sleeping bag and pulled out a crab, "oh look a crab" Sirius said in a girly voice,

"oh you two, you did this didn't you?" She sneered, 

"what makes you think that dear sister?" James played innocent,

"Oh I don't know! Maybe the grinning on your faces, and the fact that you two were the only ones in here other than me and this crab couldn't have gotten in on its own accord!" She sassed.

"Alright maybe it was us" Sirius looked at her stupidly,

"Maybe?" "Or surely?" She glared madly, "never ever prank the prankster" she warned them, "and if I were you, I'd sleep with one eye open tonight" she smirked and got back in her bed.

"I'm definitely sleeping with one eye open tonight" James whispered to Sirius,

"heck I'm not even sleeping" he answered in a low voice, "let's take some of her sweets to keep us awake" Sirius suggested, James nodded and they got up quietly and opened the drawer where Clara kept her sweets. 

As soon as they were about to grab one, they were sent flying back at the wall beside them. 

"Ow!" James grunted,

"what did I say, be careful" Clara smirked,

"have you bewitched them?" Sirius asked interested after he got up off the floor and began rubbing his head, 

"yes I have" she answered without looking up from her book, "idiots" she mumbled,

"we heard that!" James snapped,

"you were meant to!" She snapped back. After about an hour they were all fast asleep in their beds.
