Chapter 22 - The tragic story of headphones

Start from the beginning

"No?"

"God, my best friend is an idiot."

"Well. Let's be happy you girls found someone, who would kill for you. Cheers!"

"Is that really something to cheer for?"

"Nahh. Cheers!"

One last time Hwayoung sat on the balcony. This time she didn't bring any paper to draw. This time she was just watching the scenery and taking in every single moment.

"How the hell can you be awake at this time?", Siyeon asked confused as she stepped out and sat down beside her best friend. She wanted to see the sunrise as well, but boy was it hard to convince her mind to get out of bed.

"Weren't you the one who said 'Language' yesterday?"

"Shhhhh. We don't talk about that."

The two best friends sat in silence after that, wrapped in a blanket and Hwayoung's head on Siyeon's shoulder. They had started this journey together, and they ended it together as well.

When the two girls finally drove away from the house after dozens of hugs and goodbyes, the Lee's couldn't help but feel a bit sad. The past month the hotel had been so lively and full of love and fun. Of course the boys and girls had left traces here and there making it hard for them to actually forget them.

"Perfect, right?", Ms. Lee asked a bit sad when she hung up the next photo on their wall. It had been taken by Jangjun at their surprise party for Siyeon and everyone wore their costumes. Proudly Ms. Lee also added another photo, directly next to the old one of Hwayoung and Jibeom. The both of them had fallen asleep again on the balcony, not knowing someone had taken a picture of them.

Proudly Mr. Lee nodded at the pictures.

"They did it. In the end, love will always find a way.", he said and placed a soft kiss on his wife's forehead who had a smile on her face as well.

For the boys the week had been very stressful and at first they were quite overwhelmed with all the work they had to do. But every time they felt exhausted, they'd just tell each other memories that happened during their holiday to make each other happy.

Now they were currently in their studio, recording new songs for their album and upcoming concert. Of course Jibeom felt quite nervous and he fiddled with the moon bracelet on his wrist: a habit he had picked up the past few days.

Of course his mind still couldn't believe it. How did he end up so lucky? Without his friends he would have never had the courage to actually do something about his crush.

"He's thinking about her again.", Jaehyun whispered making Jibeom look up. Youngtaek laughed at this.

"He always has that creepy look on his face when he does."

"My face is not creepy, okay?"

"Whatever you say, Marshmallow.", Joochan said winking at him.

"I am not a marshmallow."

"Then why do you always go soft when we talk about Hwayoung?"

"Sometimes I really hate you."

"I know."

After the recording was done and the boys went over to their dance practice room, Jangjun was taking extra long. It was already two days ago since he last heard Siyeon's voice and he really missed her. Sometimes it scared him how much she already meant to him but at the same time he couldn't help but feel happy about it.

Smiling at his phone he started a voice message Siyeon had sent him a few days ago. He almost had to beg her to do this but in the end she couldn't resist his cuteness. Jangjun had thought it was a pity she had written such a beautiful song about their whole friendship and they wouldn't be able to listen to it. So he had convinced her to send a recording of it.

Not able to hold in a smile he listened to the song. He loved it, even though he had already listened to it about a hundred times. It would never get boring for him.

"This song is pretty good.", a voice suddenly said behind, startling Jangjun. Surprised the boy awkwardly turned off the song and stood up, facing the Composer of many songs of theirs. BLSSD. It was his studio and he guided Golden Child through the recordings. Apparently he had forgotten something and came back.

"Yeah, uhm, it's my favourite.", Jangjun said nervously scratching the back of his head.

"Oh, really? Who wrote it?", their Composer asked interested.

"A friend of mine."

"And is this friend of yours interested in writing more songs?", he asked again. BLSSD figured out it was not an official song, but he really liked it. And he thought this style fit Golden Child well. One could make more out of the song.

"I guess so.", Jangjun said quickly, hoping to escape this embarrassing situation. He didn't want to expose Siyeon or drag her into something.

"Do you think this friend of yours would sale the song? Obviously for a fair price."

"Uhm what?"

"You understood me. That girl got talent and I think one can do more out of that song. Maybe she could work here, as well."

"Are you serious?", Jangjun asked not believing his ears. It would be perfect. Siyeon would get to live her dream and be near him at the same time. Hell, yes!

"Have you ever heard me cracking a joke?"

"Oh my god, oh my god, this is- thank you.", Jangjun stammered. He was so overwhelmed he almost couldn't await telling Siyeon the news. This was her chance to fulfil her dream. But will she take it?
