If it was any consolation, Y/N was relieved that she had a friend with her when she found out. She didn't know if she would've been able to handle the stress if she was alone. But in a sense she was alone.

She wasn't dating Tyler anymore and he was definitely unfit to be a parent.

Walking out of the bathroom, Y/N pushed the test into her purse and took a deep breath.

"Well?" Katie asked, pushing herself off of the wall that she had been leaning on for the last five minutes.

"You're gonna be an Aunt." she tried to play it off. They were by no means related, but the girls were close like sisters and if there was anyone in Texas that Y/N considered to be like family, it was Katie.

The woman gasped and rushed forward, embracing her pregnant friend in a tight hug. "Congratulations!" she whispered excitedly. But upon pulling away and noticing Y/N's less than thrilled expression, she pouted. "You're not happy?" she asked.

Y/N let out a chuckle of disbelief as she stared at the ceiling for a moment, still trying to process the news. "Happy?" she asked sarcastically. "I'm having a baby with the man who cheated on me- I don't think that exactly warrants a celebration." she mumbled trying not to tear up.

Letting out a sigh and shaking her head, Y/N grabbed Katie's hand and tugged her along. "Let's just forget about this for tonight- I wanna go back to the party." she told her friend. She had no plans on staying, but she at least needed to make an appearance before someone noticed that they were gone.

Heading back into the pub, Y/N was rather comforted by the smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke, at least that party scene was still familiar to her. Pushing through the crowd and making it to the bar, Y/N made herself comfortable on a stool right in front of the wooden countertop.

The bartender asked her what she wanted and she requested a soda, people would look at her weirdly if she just asked for water. At least with the soda she could easily say that she had work in the morning.

Y/N couldn't help but pick at the wooden varnish along the top of the bar- her thoughts consumed her as she started to become stressed out, A crease forming in the middle of her brow. She and Katie were sitting at the bar for a moment, Katie was watching her best friend's expression and she shook her head "Do you actually know what you're gonna do?" She asked and Y/N shook her head.

"I don't know...I'm not gonna just get rid of the baby." she said and she looked over at Tyler who was drunk, his arm loosely around another woman and she looked at Katie "Would it be terrible if I put the baby up for adoption?" She asked as she felt her inner turmoil start to spiral. Katie was silent for a moment but she shook her head "No one would judge you.. But Tyler should know about this baby too. If anything you guys make that choice together on what you want.. This baby is both of yours"

Y/N didn't know if she liked the idea of telling Tyler. When Katie mentioned that the baby was Tyler's too, her eyes widened. "You're kidding right? He fucked me and left- if i'm going to be single and keep this baby, i'm the one that has to do all the hard work." she curled her fists. She knew that her friend had a point, but looking over at her ex-lover through the bar she couldn't help but scoff. "Do you really think he cares? We've been broken up for less than a month and it seems as though he's already moved on." she gritted her teeth.

Katie looked over at her friend and sighed "If Jamie and I broke up and I was pregnant with his child, I would want to tell him right away.. He has a right to know that he's gonna be a father and if he doesn't want to be involved then fine.. I wouldn't have a problem raising this kid by myself"
