After 200 years, the Acursed Darksign became stronger than ever. Many people have turned hollow, losing memories of their loved ones, friends, and family. this is the First Sin, Lord Gwyn changed the course of nature, causing light and dark in a constant ebb and flow. Undead sacrifices were used to stave of the curse but it was all for naught, as the First Flame needs a strong soul to keep the fires burning, or to shroud the world in dark.
