Introduction

The strong smell of smoke and ash lingered through the city sky, as the two teens sat in almost complete silence on the ledge of what once was an apartment building centered in chaos that had passed only days before. Sam, the brunnete-haired boy, sighed, right before he took another bite of the protein bar he had been snacking on for the past half-hour. His hair was wavy, very subtly, but it was the kind of wavy that wouldnt go away, even with a straitening iron. He was a quiet kid, who mostly didn't like associating himself with others his age, but at this point, he had had no choice but to let the older kid tag along with him.

River, who had been sitting there doing all but paying attention to anything important around them, wanted to listen to the silence. Wanted to focus on it. Wanted it to consume them. Anything to get away from this hellhole of a planet. Unfortunately, that wasnt much of an option.

The city below them had been torn to millions of peices, the buildings barely being supported by the semi-flat ground below it. Every single building, every apartment building, every work building, all of it, falling apart with no hope of any repair. The ground was uneven. The cars all flipped and crushed. The water and lights all gone. They had been for months, even before the accident. How had this even happened? How were they all that was left? Were they even the only ones left? There were still so many unanswered questions about what happened and why, but they hadn't anything to go off of, let alone know where to start. They still had to survive at all costs. They had to survive this apocalyptic hell-on-earth that seemed like something strait out of a mystery novel.

They had to make it out alive.

I'm sorry for the short start but I just wanted to be able to get it up and running!
