Tony hurried in, pacing slightly as he flattened his hair.
"Whatcha stressed about, Tones?" The spy asked, not taking her eyes off the book.
Tony whirled around, studying her reclining across the armchair like a cat with Clint resting on the side playing on his Nintendo Switch. "Nothing. I'm not stressed."
"Hmm." Natasha turned the page. "So you're not in the slightest stressed about the intern that's coming today?"
"Dang it Nat you know me too well." He sighed, flopping down on the couch. "What if he sees right through my facade?"
"By the way he wrote the last page of his test, I'd say that he's too self-absorbed to notice."
Tony quirked an eyebrow. "I don't think he'll be self-absorbed, Nat."
The Russian hummed to herself and continued reading.
Stark looked up as the elevator opened, revealing a young teenager with well combed, dark hair. He straightened his polo shirt and smirked slightly. "I'm Flash."
"Flash?"
"Its what everyone calls me instead.of Eugene."
"Okay then, Eugene. Shall we go down to the labs?"
Flash frowned but obliged. Nat watched warily as the kid sauntered after Tony.
"Shall we go stalk them?" Clint asked.
"Of course." They lept off from their seats and scrambled into the vents Clint taking one side of the room and Nat taking the other.
"I hope you don't mind getting a little greasy toady, Flynn Rider."
Flash blinked, confused. "Flynn?"
"You're name's Eugene. Eugene Fitzherbert Flynn Rider- you know what, ignore it." Tony sighed and pulled out a project. "So, I'm trying to improve my AI, but I'm a little stumped on the coding."
"Cool." Flash was too busy inspecting the ironman suits.
The billionaire's eyes rolled heavenwards. This kid was starting to be a royal pain in the derrirere. "I need your help."
Flash was over in a flash, obviously thinking that he was the sun and everything revolved around him. "What am I doing?"
"Fix. The dang. Coding."
The bully took one glance at the computer and scoffed. "That's for nerds like Puny Parker."
Tony rolled his eyes for the second time and looked at the vents, mouthing "kill me" to the hiding assassin.
"Now who is this Parker you speak of?" Tony asked, leading Flash into the living room where the rest of the Avengers were relaxing.
"Oh, he's just a nobody. Expects everyone to pity him because he's an orphan. Stupid Parker."
Wanda, Pietro, Nat, Steve, Bucky, Thor, Loki and Tony all swivelled their heads towards him.
"Did you say... orphan?"
Flash recoiled at the venom in Wnada's voice. "Ye-yes. He really isn't important-"
"I don't think you get to decide who is important, Thompson."
"Bucky, put the dagger away."
The soldier pulled a face but obliged, stashing the blade in some secret spot.
"You still use a knife? Why not a gun?"
"I use my pinkie toe," Nat piped up, sending daggers through her glare.
Tony had had enough. "Okay, your internship is cancelled. I'm done with your crap. FRIDAY, send him home."
Eugene started to protest, but the entire team if superheroes pointed at the door. The ex-intern had no choice but to leave.
As soon as the doors shut, Tony collapsed into the pillows. "I am never doing that again."
Nat snorted. "Sure."
They sat in silence for a few minutes.
"So what about the one who got 0%?"
"Nat, I am not getting another intern." The Stark moved to the kitchenette to brew himself a coffee.
Nat didn't even look at him, she just put her book down and moved to the door. "Oh, by the way Tony."
Tony looked at her through tired eyes.
"Eugene didn't do that test."
Confusion was visible on Tony's face.
"I'm telling you, compare the handwriting." With that odd comment, Natasha Romanoff left to do whatever she dis in her spare time.
Tony snorted. "No way am I doing that." He sipped on his coffee, staring placidly at the wall. "Oh who am I kidding of course I'm doing this!" Slapping the mug down on the desk, he bolted down the stairs.
"FRIDAY! PULL UP THE TESTS!"
"STOP LAUGHING NATASHA!"
Natasha continued, cackling in her room.
