The Diary of a Pureblood

29th August 1961

Today we went with Molly to Diagon Alley so that she could get all of her school supplies. She is starting her first year at Hogwarts very soon. I was extra excited because we got to use Floo Powder! I love using Floo Powder!  As I emerged from the fireplace in the Leaky Cauldron, my face lit up. Papa used his wand to open up Diagon Alley and a large smile crossed my face. Diagon Alley was my favourite place in the world! 

We started off by going to Gringotts. I stifled a giggle as a little goblin showed us the way to our vault. As Mama, Papa and my siblings entered they beckoned me in. This was my first time in a vault, EVER! Mama said that I can have 10 WHOLE galleons to spend on whatever I want.

We left Gringotts and Mama, Papa and Molly went to choose a pet the magical menagerie. They said that Fabian, Gideon and I could do what we wanted and spend our money. The boys just went to Quality Quidditch Supplies and stared longingly at the Comet 220. I decided to go to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour and bought a large raspberry and chocolate sundae. I went to sit outside with my ice cream when I noticed a girl of my age. I went up to her and we starting talking. Her name was Bellatrix Black. She had jet black, curly hair which I loved!

We talked for about an hour and then I realised the time. I told her that I had to meet my parents in Flourish and Blotts and she said that she also needed to go there so we went together! We walked up together but as we entered the shop (still in deep converse), my parents came up to me and took me away with them. When we were far away from Bellatrix, they said that the Blacks are a bad family and we should not befriend them. 

When Mama walked away I stuck my tongue out at her (I'm quite a rebel). She couldn't tell me who I could be friends with. I liked Bellatrix so we will be friends, that's my call to make not my bossy parents. 

After that, my parents said that we had one more exciting stop then we would go back home. We were going to Ollivanders so that Molly could get her first wand! Her wand was made of Oak and had a dragon heartstring core. It was 8 and a half inches long. 

After that exciting excursion, Papa said it was home time. As we entered the Leaky Cauldron, I begged for butterbeer before we were to leave and after I pleaded, they accepted. After a warm cup of butterbeer we headed home. I couldn't wait for next year when we would repeat it all for Fabian and Gideon and then finally me the year after.
