𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝟣-𝟫: 𝒜𝓃 𝒪𝓊𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔

Start from the beginning

Technoblade stands up from his creaking wooden chair, enthusiastically walking out of the slightly small study room he was in. As he approached the large mahogany castle doors, he breathed in and out again, his chest going up and down repeatedly in an attempt to calm himself down. He opened the doors to reveal you wearing the light blue short dress, the tiny aquamarine earrings shimmered in the sun's bright beams of light, adding a slight contrast with your dark charcoal hair. After a few short moments, he begins to cough, a shade of red brushing over his cheeks for a split second.

"You look great..."

"Thanks, you too."

An awkward silence fell upon the both of you as you tried to think of anything to break the silence.

"Why did you call me to the castle for today, Technoblade?"

"I needed..."

You could see the pinkette racking his brain for any answers that came to him. At last, the pinkette spoke again.

"I... I needed your advice in the shopping district! Mhm, that's right...!"

You clock your head to the side, clearly confused at his statement, but agreeing to follow him for what he says is "business in the shopping district". The both of you enter the black carriage and it sets off. Looking in front of you, you see the pinkette staring off into the distance, looking towards a thick forest that somehow had a mysterious aura around it, making you feel as though it was a place of sorrow and pain. The journey to the village became increasingly quiet, you'd try to strike up a conversation with the pinkette, but compared to the last time you had met him, he seemed to feel more distant. Every question would have wither a vague answer or just a nod from him.

"We're here, your highness."

Looking out the window, you see that it was the city you used to live in. Now excited, you wanted to meet your father again, see him, tell him how you were doing and most importantly...

Should you even tell him?

You placed your hands together and stared thinking about the plan of telling Technoblade about the poison.

An execution right in front of your father, by the blood god himself.

As soon as the carriage stopped, Technoblade stepped out, reaching out a hand to help you down the stairs of the carriage. Murmurs and whispers engulfed you as the both of you walked around the streets.

"It's the cursed child of that baron, right?"

"No wonder the baron sold her off, she's probably a slave just adored by her master..."

"Who's the person next to her?"

"Perhaps a slave trader... Who knows?"

Your face turned pale as more and more of these comments drowned you in the sea of chaos surrounding you. You eyes started to well up.

It's just words, they can't hurt you...

They can't hurt you...

Just, ignore them...

"If you have a problem with her, then tell it straight to my face."

You could feel a tinge of anger in his monotonous voice, however, that didn't make you feel scared or even anxious. The voice was strangely, re-assuring, making you feel as though you could trust this man.

"Do you even know who she is? That disgusting person is the cursed child of this place killed thousands including her own mother! Her hands are probably blood red from all the blood she's spilled! "

A woman's voice shouted from the crowd. You could see Technoblade's eyes slightly widen from the statement, his body began to tense up. Now you were in for it.

'The first prince of the Antarctic Empire brings an end to the wretched child that cursed the city!'

They'd cheer. You hear the pinkette click his tongue as he began to draw his sword.

"After insultin' MY fiancé, you should be ready to have your tongue sliced off, correct? You did just insult a royal."

The citizens hesitated, but as soon as they saw the pink hair and the royal insignia on Technoblade's vest, they stood in their place with their jaws dropped. You immediately pull Technoblade's hand away from his sword and drag him away from the commotion, the sounds of the citizens whispering fading away slowly.

You drag him off to a quieter place of the district, hoping that it would calm Technoblade down. As you drag him to a fairly dark alleyway, you could feel tears begin to dampen your eyes. As you wipe your tears using your gloves, the disgusting feeling of mushy wet fabric felt uncomfortable, the whispers and curses of the citizens around you felt crushing, the place just felt agonizing. As you squeeze the fabric of you dress, you heard the sound of a box being crushed. Looking over, you see Technoblade at the entrance of the alley way kicking the cardboard boxes around him, cursing under his breath when he was done. Seeing that you look at him, he immediately stopped and rushed over to you and hugged you in a warm embrace. Before you could hug him back, he firmly holds your arms in place and questions you.

"Why didn't you tell me this before? You were treated this badly!?"

"I...I just got used t-"

"Got used to it? If I didn't step in, there was a child who was ready to throw rocks at you!"

"It's been even w-worse at times, but nothing y...you should worry about...t..."

Managing to choke out on those last words, the both of you go quiet. You staring at him, him staring you. It was completely different atmosphere from the first meeting between you and him. From the bright and blinding lights of the ballroom to the dark shadows of the alleyway, there was a very distinct difference, but you somehow, you didn't feel scared, nor uncomfortable, nor worried. You felt...warm in his embrace, but you felt as though you could break down at the same time...

"Technoblade..."

You mumble underneath your, one hand clutching the dress you had been wearing, the other was clutching the white purse containing the poison.
