At least he could stay in his room for a while, and Toxin was forcing him to take a nap which he honestly wasn't upset about. So he closed his eyes and fell asleep, when he woke up Mary was calling him for dinner and he didn't want to get up. Then Toxin moved his body and made him get up, Danny wasn't happy, "You couldn't have waited five seconds?"

'No, I want food and you were not moving.'

Danny sighed, "I hate you."

'No you don't.'

Danny wanted to argue but he knew he wouldn't win it so he walked downstairs and sat down despite wanting to go back to bed. They started eating and it was quiet which annoyed him a bit, the twins were talking to each other but that was it. John eventually broke the silence, "So, did anything interesting happen today?"

They all glanced at each other aside from Danny who just kept eating, Lucas spoke, "Not really, pretty normal day."

Mary looked at him, "Danny?"

"You know usually people take silence as an indication that someone doesn't want to talk."

John and Mary glanced at each other, they had no idea what to say or do and Danny just got up and went to his room. Toxin spoke, 'Still upset?'

"Look if they have a problem fine but acting like everything is fine is pissing me off, at least have the decency to leave me the fuck alone."

'They have never dealt with this before.'

"Neither have I but I'm figuring it out and I know they are too but history will show that trying to talk to me when I don't want to talk is a bad idea."

'That is true.'

"Exactly, so I'm going to go out and try to find this killer and try not to punch something, and try to avoid a bunch of heroes."

Danny climbed out the window and headed toward the city, he changed and started searching. He felt like he'd scoured every inch of the city over the past few weeks and he still hadn't caught whoever was doing this. He'd say he was frustrated but that was an understatement, he was surprised he hadn't punched anything yet.

They'd stopped a few criminals already and had just left more for the police, when they spotted a familiar shadow. Toxin spoke, 'That is the killer.'

Phantom spoke, "They're not getting away this time."

They started chasing them when something hit them and knocked them off the roof before they knew what happened. Toxin took over and dug his claws into the side of the building, they landed on the ground and Toxin growled. Someone just threw them off the roof and he was pissed, then he saw that they were being surrounded and he glared at who they were.

The team of heroes had surrounded them and their mentors quickly joined them, but they did notice that Robin, Artemis, and Batgirl weren't there. Toxin spoke, "This is getting annoying."

Aqualad spoke, "Give up, you are outnumbered."

"Clearly you didn't learn from the first time, but we don't have time to deal with you."

Batman glared at them, "Who's we?"

Toxin just growled a little, the heroes moved to attack when something buried itself in the ground between them, it was an arrow. Three figures landed between the heroes and the duo and Toxin's eyes widened just a little, it was Robin, Artemis, and Batgirl. Artemis was pointing an arrow at the heroes and Robin and Batgril had their own weapons out and ready.

Toxin and Phantom just stared at them, Green Arrow spoke, "Artemis, what are you three doing?"

She glared at him, "Protecting our friend."

The other heroes looked shocked, Batgirl looked at them, "Go."

They hesitated, neither of them wanted to just leave them there especially when they were clearly going to get into trouble. Then they heard a scream and they glanced in the direction it came from but they still hesitated. Robin looked at them, "We've got this, go."

They wanted to stay but they had to go, Toxin growled a little before extending his arm to reach the roof and pulling them up before running to where the scream came from. Superman clearly wasn't happy, "You just let that criminal get away."

Batgirl spoke, "He's not a criminal and he's our friend, you're not hurting him, either of them."

Flash spoke, "We weren't going to hurt them."

Artemis spoke, "Didn't look that way, we always attacked them first."

Batman spoke, "You don't actually know them."

Robin glared at him, "I'm dating one of them, and you're not hurting them."

The heroes stared at him in shock, Artemis looked at him, "So you two finally started dating?"

"Can we talk about that later?"

The two nodded and looked back at the heroes, this was going to take some explaining.
