*knock knock knock* My little sister knocking on my bedroom door at three in the morning. But of course, I was still awake. On Skype with my boyfriend Ethan.
"Yes Talia?" I ask her. "Daddy's yelling at Mommy!"
I leap out of my bed yelling "Hold on Ethan!" In the process of running out of my room down the hallway, Talia following closely jbehind. Thankfully, I don't think Ethan heard what Talia said.
I bust into their bedroom and see my mom against the wall with my dad standing in front of her yelling about how the money in the bank account was running low. Something that my father never brought up, because he knew it made Mother feel bad. Mom responded, sobbing "Babe, please stop." As she glances at the nightstand that has four empty beer bottles laying on it, meaning he was obviously drunk.
I stood in the doorway, keeping my distance and screamed at my dad "Stop dad! It isn't her fault!" He ran towards me with a look full of distain and hatred; not my normal, happy-go-lucky father. He stood in front of me and screamed "Get out of here Emma! It has nothing to do with you!"
I look into my mothers sobbing eyes, whom was now standing behind my father. "Emma. It's fine. Just take Talia back to bed, please." I look into my fathers eyes, with not as much distain as a second ago.
"Not until you promise not to scream at my mom like that again. It was horribly uncalled for." My father looked appalled. "You're right Emma. I'm sorry Kelly." As he hugs my mom nicely. I roll my eyes at my father and walk out of the room, carrying Talia to her room.
I lay her down in bed and tuck her in, handing her a stuffed bunny- her favorite stuffed bunny that she can't sleep without. And I kissed her forehead. As I go to walk out of the room she whispers "Emmie.. Why did Daddy do that to Mommy?" I looked at her and frowned and whispered "I have no clue Talia.. No clue at all".
