I still remember my heart fluttering as I watched her play on the swing sets. Her red hair swinging behind her as her smile lit up the whole world. I loved watching her honey brown eyes look over at me. I never thought she would give me the time of day. One day I guess I got lucky. I don't know how or why but she actually spoke to me. She asked for my name. I don't think my little brain could even comprehend what was happening. The knots in my stomach were getting tighter and tighter every second. I finally managed to muster up the brain power to reply with,

"Elliot.... I sit at the purple table."

I saw her impeccable smile once again. Her eyes gleamed as she remembered me.

"Yes!! Elliot... I got to remember that. I am Maggy."

She had no clue how well I knew her name. It replayed over and over again in my brain. That's all could think about.

From that day we became best friends. From ages 6-10, I had some of the best times of my life. Never would I have thought that she would end up leaving. Her parents started to fight and that divorce broke her. She wasn't my Maggy anymore. I tried to keep the friendship together but I just couldn't. The further and further she pushed me. I could never win. She ended up in bad crowds from there. First it was bullying kids. Then it progressed throughout the years to drugs, school skipping, partying. She ended up going under the radar for at least 10 years before I found her.

I was walking along the street and there it was, those honey brown eyes and her red hair. I knew who it was before she even turned around. I could sense it. I dropped my briefcase and everything in the middle of the busy morning commuter's path. I didn't care, it was Maggy.

" Maggy!"

She slowly turned around. As soon as I saw that face my eyes began to tear and so did hers. I found her at last. I ran up to her and hugged her. I released her from my embrace and before I could ever say anything she kissed me. The kiss I have been waiting for the past 20 years.

It began to snow softly and I loved seeing that white snow stuck in her eyelashes. I had her. That's all I have ever wanted. She admitted that is what she has wanted too.

That was in 2003. We married in 2005 and had our first baby girl in 2007. Second little monster in 2010. I have built the beautiful family I have always wanted, and it was with the girl I loved from the start.
