I woke up in my quaint little home to the sound of soft pitters above. It was fairly early in the morning and quiet besides the rain outside, and sleeping in was certainly an option. However, as soothing as the cool day was, I begrudgingly hoisted myself out of bed and prepared for- Oh gosh. It's raining, on Bunny Day!
I quickly slipped into something appropriate to wear after my sudden realization and hurried to gather my things. With it being Bunny Day, I didn't stress over learning each Bunny Day DIY recipe or crafting what I found, I had prepared for this day and had already grown quite the collection since the first day eggs began appearing on the islands. And with the weather, it doesn't seem like many of my fellow residents will join in the festivities but rather stay in the comfort of their homes. It was a little chilly, after all, for what's supposed to be a warm, sunny spring event. One thing was for sure, come rain come shine, a particular festive rabbit would stop at nothing to bring the spirit of Bunny Day here.
By the thought of it, I grabbed an extra umbrella and the only raincoat I owned before I rushed out the door, taking a few fruits with me as well to eat. I yanked my leaf umbrella out just before anymore rain could dampen my outfit and made my way to the town plaza. The rain wasn't falling very hard, thank goodness, and by the looks of it, the clouds had just rolled in. I hoped there wouldn't be any big storm arriving as it was quite dark. As I approached the Resident Services building, I caught sight of what looked to be balloons shaped as colorful, pastel eggs shaking in the light breeze. Just right next to those said balloons was a yellow rabbit in blue overalls hopping about in place in chipper fashion. I scurried up to him and skidded to a halt.
"Woah there, skipper! Why the rush?" the bunny exclaimed, caught off guard.
Without so much as a hum of acknowledgement, I grabbed my spare umbrella out, opened it, and held it over the bunny with a small grin. He looked at me a little funny, glancing up at the umbrella and then back at me.
"What are you doing, kid?"
"Helping," I replied. "My arm is getting a little tired, do you think you can hold this?" I asked as I held out the handle to him.
"Yeah. Sure..." He took the separate umbrella from me, confused but grateful nonetheless. Now we can both stay out of the rain.
Summary for the Tom Nook x Reader: It's hard work maintaining a good rating for your island, but that doesn't stop you from striving to improve even more. There's so much to be done, there's hardly ever a chance to rest if it means helping the community. You're quite the selfless person, but that comes at a price much to yours and a tanuki's dismay.

Finally outside, I took a good look at my surroundings. Nothing unusual, just a few people revving their cars up to head to work, save for a few people sitting on doorsteps with a cigarette in hand. I did my usual 'Hello, good morning! Have a nice day' nod to others while I left. Now, I do have a car of my own, but I rarely use it as to save money. That being said, I make sure to pack deodorant with me everywhere I go. I'd usually run or speed walk my way to my destination, but with it being early, I figured that I would have time to slow down a bit to take my time. This was certainly a nice change of pace.
