I could feel the pebbles of the gravel digging into my hands, leaving painful indentations that would later sting my palm. I was too focused on the scene in front of me, not processing the pain that finally seemed to rush throughout my entire body.

Instead, I stared at Yoonbum, in total awe I was in the presence of the poor man. I remember reading articles online, scared that this had happened so close to where I live.

Yoonbum was the only victim to survive, later being transported to a nearby hospital to recover.

My eyes brimmed with tears, finally gaining some context of the situation in front of me. But, why did he call me Sangwoo? Later, he classified me as the girl he was with. Although I had concluded who everyone was, I still had many questions flowing throughout my head.

I stood up, my legs quite shaky now that the adrenaline was wearing off. I brushed off the pebbles and the dirt that had seemed to flow off the hoodie the man was wearing onto me.

All the while Seungbae was talking with Yoonbum, questioning him about his whereabouts. Though as he saw me stand, he rushed to do the same, pulling Yoonbum up with him. It was silent until Yoonbum muttered,

"I just wanted to say goodbye." Seungbae let out another sigh, using one hand to correct the glasses that had slipped down his face.

"Mr. Yoon, they said you had-". He stopped mid-sentence taking in Yoonbums appearance, more specifically, the dirt all over the boy's body. His eyes went wide, an unprecedented act for the strong-willed man. He seemed to choke on his sentence, not knowing the proper way to speak to the frail man. He didn't need to, Yoonbum said it all for him.

"I dropped it, I dropped him." The on-goers looked confused at the young man's statements, rumors starting to fill their way amongst the crowd. A single tear fell from my eye as I looked down at the long coat I was wearing. It wasn't dust nor dirt that had stained my jacket.

It was Sangwoo's Ashes.

I swallowed the urge to vomit, throwing a hand over my mouth. But it was too much. I ran towards the nearest bush, emptying my stomach's contents within it. I struggled, desperate to get the jacket off of me, to get him off of me.

I heard as Yoonbum sniffled, holding back tears that once again threatened to spill over his eyes. I fell to my knees, clutching my stomach as the pain seemed to intensify.

Finally, the sound of sirens could be heard, causing the crowd to quickly disperse. Yoonbum was transported to a police car, hopefully taking him back to the hospital. I watched the car drive in the opposite direction as the jam of cars that were once held up started to flow smoothly again.

A hand on my back snapped me out of my trance, slightly flinching at the unexpected touch. Seungbae rubbed my back, offering me a handkerchief. The small act of kindness suddenly dropped my defenses as I kindly accepted his gift with a light smile. I stood, cleaning myself off before throwing the soiled cloth onto the jacket that remained on the ground.

"I'm sorry I don't think I caught your name." He stated. I secretly checked to make sure my hand was dry and not splattered with any leftover bile before holding it out.

"It's Y/N, nice to meet you." Seungbae slightly smiled, gently squeezing his hand against mine.

"Officer Seungbae, likewise." His grip was soft as if realizing any more pressure would slightly pain my hand. Although I already knew his name, I went along with the act, not wanting to grovel at the man whose face was on almost every news station.

"I need to ask you a few questions if you don't mind following me back to my car." I nodded, accepting his proposition.

He yelled at a few other officers, to grab the jacket on the sidewalk before making his way to his car, me trailing quietly behind. His car door remained open, probably from quickly assessing the event from earlier.
