I bolted upright, panting in a bed I didn't recognize. People ran over to me, asking me questions, but I only heard mumbling. I didn't know who any of these people were, let alone knew who I was. The mumbles got quieter and quieter until I slipped back into dreams.
I was back on the black sand with Aiden holding me in his arms.
"LYLA, WHAT HAPPENED?!" Aiden exclaimed, sounding worried.
"Those strange faces...I saw them again," I responded dreamily, looking up at the blank white sky.
"We need to find a way to stop those stupid visions," Aiden said softly, kissing my sandy red hair. We sat on the beach for a while longer, me leaning against his arm, the tide coming up to our feet.
"Hey, come on, let's go back home," Aiden said, standing up and holding out his arm. I grabbed it as we walked home into the dark and quiet cul-de-sac, separating into our houses.
"I'M HOME!" I yelled to my family...No answer. I shrugged it off.
"They're probably just out. They'll be home soon," I walked to my cold, empty room. All that was there was a hard bed, a vanity with a chair, and a small table pushed up against the wall. I walked over to the mirror and saw a wreck on legs, my red hair was sandy and matted, my face was so dirty you couldn't even see my freckles, and my light blue dress was all torn up. Typical. I walk to the bathroom and hopped in the shower. I cleaned my face and washed my hair. Once I got out, I searched through all the drawers and finally found my hairbrush. I brushed my hair and got dressed in a comfortable outfit. I laid in bed waiting for my family to come back...But they still weren't home.
Suddenly I heard the door open, and a bust of wind came through my room.
"Hey guys" I said to my family , but they keep walking in perfect sync.
I went to the kitchen to grab a snack but the fridge was empty and so was the pantry, cupboards, and the bread basket.
"I am starving!", I complain to myself while rubbing my stomach.
"MOM WHERE IS ALL THE FOOD?!?" I yell up to her....still no answer. I knew I wouldn't get one knowing the fact that her mouth was stitched, but it was still disappointing. I sighed and walk over to my phone to video called Aiden. It rings for a while until, finally he picks up the phone
"Hello Aiden!" I said
"Hey babe, what's up?" He replied
"There is no food in the whole kitchen, and I am so hun-"
"OH SHOOT! Sorry babe, love you, but I got to go. My dad's home!" He told me as he hung up the phone.
"Welp..." I whispered, though there was nobody to hear me anyway.
I looked at the clock to see it read 9:33 P.M. in big red letters.
"Man, already?!" I think to my self as I walk up the stairs to get ready for bed. My little twin brothers were standing in my doorway.
"Play with us!" They demanded at the exact same time.
"Sorry, bedtime" I responded. They tilted their head in the creepiest way where it almost looked upside down. I was used to it by now though. I walk into my room and lay in bed while think about all my weird visions, as I drifted to sleep.
