“Every couple has ups and downs, every couple argues, and that’s the thing—you’re a couple, and couples can’t function without trust.” ― Nicholas Sparks

The next day - December 21st - he thought it'd be funny to set my alarm for 4 o’clock in the morning after the rough night last night. So I thought I’d get him back. But now wasn’t the time. We had to get everything ready for Christmas with his parents tomorrow.

Couple hours passed and I finally got up at 7. I had so much to do. Pack. Rap presents. Plus we were thinking about moving in together after we graduated next semester. So we had so much to do in such a little amount of time. Then that all got interupted.

*Hears a knock on the door* I stop everything I was doing and look up to Curtis and we just happened to lock eyes and I could feel our hearts locked and I felt so close. Then reality hit. Hard. *Hears a knock on the door again* “We know you’re in there” said a familiar voice.

I look deeply in his eyes again “So do you want me to get it?”

“No, I’ll get it. You stay here and keep being sexy,” he says as he winks at me.

*Curtis gets the door* “Oh it’s you,” he laughs.

*Josh and Kelly walks in* “I see how it is.”

*I walk over to the front door and hug Kelly* “I haven’t seen you in forever!”

“I know girl. It’s been too long.”

Going to a different school than my friends was hard. It gave me different and better chances than they had, so that part was worth it. Deep down inside of me I wished I would have gone to a community college first then to a big university but University of Kentucky was my dream. The only dream I was really determined to do. The only dream that I wasn’t letting anything get in my way. It was everything I ever wanted.

I’m not sure how Curtis read my mind that day, but having Josh and Kelly coming over to see me helped me through that whole Christmas break. Later that night after we fixed dinner together for our guests, we all had a movie night like old times.

Finally Josh and Kelly decided to head for home since they both had work in the morning so we decided we’d carry the party on til midnight. Lets just say by the time midnight hit there was no possibility that either of us could walk.
