The boy(human) is bullied for his looks and family history. He had no friends so when a monster comes visits him, he befriends the monster and becomes friends with it. In actuality, the monster is his imagination. This is about self-growth, love, and acceptance. The boy's monster plays a key role in his life. Both good and bad. He wanted to escape from reality, so he created something to do that for him. He wanted company, a friend. So he kept to himself and was blinded. He couldn't see those that care for him and only believed In the monster he created. When his birthday comes, the monster will disappear.
