"Okay and now, just because you're here doesn't mean you just get to lay around and do nothing all day, you have to at least spend some amount of time with me or clean my house, in the VERY least" my mom laughs as we head down the highway onward to her home, "so what's that mean? I can't do anything by myself at all? And if I do I have to clean?" I question, with little to no excitement. "Well no, you remember me telling you about Faith? Well, she'll be working and if you make friends with her you guys can hang out, but I'll warn you ahead of time, you're probably going to think she's hot, and her boyfriend is a dick" she looks at me with a smile, knowing exactly how you can be with women, I reply back almost defensively "I don't know what you're talking about, it's doubtful, but I can believe the boyfriend is a dick, they all are" I kinda laugh a little, staring out the window just thinking of life.
About an hour passes and suddenly we're there, I drop what I can at the house and we're headed off to her work to meet the all wonderful, Faith.
We pull up into the office parking lot and mom goes "well Brady's here too I guess, but there's little Faith" her voice full of excitement, I giggle wondering how anyone could be so excited to see their coworker, but within entering the room I understood why instantly. She's drop dead gorgeous, one of the girls you could truly only ever dream about, and have without knowing it, her smile lit the room up instantly and I almost felt disgraced that I wasn't more presentable to meet her. She immediately jumped up and says "hey I'm Faith it's nice to meet ya" with the same excitement my mom displayed earlier in the car, and instantly our eyes meet and I can't hold her gaze, the amount of butterflies I feel just looking at her makes me feel, bad, knowing she's with this so called Brady, and sure enough he slams the door open and stomps in, not bothering to enter quietly at all, as I see Faith jump at the desk I shake my head, and in that moment I knew my mom was right about everything. We all sit in silence as he walks around the small office, when Faith finally pops up to ask "whatcha lookin for babe?" in a sweet, gentle voice. Brady responds gruffly back "I don't know yet I'm just looking, why?" as he grabs the chair and falls into it, looking at her for a reply, slowly she responds back "I'm not sure, just looked like you were lookin for something is all" and as she said it, he grabbed his phone and started to blatantly ignore her, and I can barely watch it all happen, I watch her kind face fall slightly, knowing he isn't listening, and says "okay never mind" in a slightly sharp tone, which I can't even blame her for. I quickly change up the topic to try and make the situation more comfortable with a small conversation starter "uh hey, I'm Bekka, it's nice to meet you" just trying to move through the tension in the room, he also ignores me for a few good seconds and then replies slowly "oh you're Ria's daughter, nice to meet you" only slightly looking up from his phone for a quick nod. I glance at Faith and she shakes her head a little bit, and mom carries on with a rambling topic that everyone is just trying to focus on.
Fast forward a couple hours and mom says it's time to go, but I don't want to, I sat and just watched and listened to everything that was said and laughed about, and slowly but surely I caught myself staring too often at the sweet blonde across the desk, her blue eyes seemed to drip like the bluest of oceans, with so much love and kindness, you could just sense how much power she could hold over anyone if they let her, and I could feel such an intense feeling of almost fire in her gaze that it shook my bones just to get up and walk away from it, to leave all of that behind, even for just a moment. She waved us off with a sweet goodbye and we were headed back to moms house, but I couldn't stop thinking about her, the way I caught her eyes constantly, the way she laughed and her cheeks got all red if she laughed too hard, the smile that could absolutely stop a train in its tracks just because you could feel all the love and happiness it can bring a single person in minutes. All throughout the night I thought of her, and nearing the end of my week stay, I got to hangout and play dice with her, just as mom said I could! I couldn't believe it, everything was just, falling into place. Life back at home had been very rough, I had a girlfriend that was serious, but just not what I needed, and I had no idea how to feel or what to do, but Faith had said some things, essentially knocking it into my head that, I didn't need that. Her smile has so much comfort and love in it that in that moment I knew, I was bound to be single soon.
