I can't believe my best friend brought me to the mall. Specifically, she brought me to the place where people usually go to buy dresses and such.

"Well, since you and Aiden are back together-"

"Are you sure you're my best friend? We are so not back together," I replied with a huff.

"Well you can deny all you want but I want to get myself the perfect dress and since you're my best friend you need to get the perfect dress as well," Emerald said as she pulled my wrist and dragged me inside one of the boutiques.

"This is so not cool Ems," I muttered, feeling helpless against my best friend's grip.

Emerald felt so energized as she went through the first rack of dresses. She smiled as she pulled out a red dress that had a square neckline and a skirt that flowed nicely just above the knee area.

"Are you picking those for yourself?" I asked her as I watched her grab two more dresses from the rack. The sales lady watched Emerald in amusement before offering to help her carry the dresses in her arms.

"Yeah, I have to find that perfect dress if it's the last thing I'll do," Emerald said, this time she was pulling a fuchsia dress that was off shoulder. Looking at the dress actually hurt my eye so I decided to divert y vision to the opposite direction.

"Okay, I'll just have a look around then," I said before turning to another rack of dresses.

I consider myself as an average outfit picker. I'm not that much of a loser to not actually know what to do with myself, and at the same time, I'm not that kind of girl who just overdoes all the beautification things like makeup and hairstyling and dress picking and all those in between. So when I grabbed a long lilac dress off the rack, I knew it was the one for me.

The dress was floor length but it wasn't loud, nor was it flashy it was simple yet elegant. It has a delicate sweetheart neckline that went a bit low but I still think it looked presentable nevertheless. The whole bust area was colored in black and the waist was adorned by black rhinestones. I smiled at the dress, hoping I would look nice enough in it.

"Ems, I think I found my perfect dress," I said as I approached the fitting room.

"That's great A! You better try it on now and I'll see it for myself," Emerald replied. Her voice was muffled from inside the fitting room.

"Alright," I replied as I went inside the cubicle right beside Emerald's.

A few moments later I emerged from the cubicle and marveled at the dress that hugged my body, "wow," I whispered. I can't believe I found the perfect dress on the first try.

Emerald went out of her cubicle after a few minutes wearing the fuchsia dress and I scrunched my face at the sight of her.

"That looks so wrong on you," I told my best friend who gave me a pout in reply.

"Really? I thought it would make me look sexy," she said as she gave the dress a twirl, "but A, you really look wonderful in that dress, please take it already."

"I guess I'll take this then," I replied with a smile, "now please pick a better dress fast!"

Emerald chose a mint green dress next, it was too simple on her. It almost made her look like an algae. Her next choice was a black dress with a mermaid style skirt, I thought she looked good in it but she thinks it's too much and it reminds her of Ursula from the Little Mermaid. After what seemed like fifty tries, Emerald finally emerged wearing a nice midnight blue dress with rhinestones near the breast area and on the skirt. It mesmerized me, she actually looked like the night sky. I gave her a thumbs up and she finally settled for it...finally.
