10 years of life times

My name is Æ2. Where I come from, time traveling is impossible. Because until a day ago... or actually, for everyone else except me, until 230 years in the future it was considered surreal. From my perspective, I discovered it yesterday in the year 2160 and I used it to travel to the 1930s decade in Athens.

Why did I choose this place? The reason I chose this exact time period is because that's when a main mandela split took place- a mandela split is a point where humanity travels to another dimension where things are different but better; I come from the benevolent dimension. I was here because I wanted to enter the grave one and understand how things could have gone worse.

However, I got caught gazing at her. She was standing there in the chaos supporting a political party which I don't quite remember 'cause it doesn't really exist in the future, or at least it doesn't in my dimension. I knew I had to stick to my plan so i could understand how the world could end but I had to talk to her.

I moved towards her but then the oddest thing happened. Someone identical to me was already standing next to her. With no second thought I created a time hiccup with my time machine, when time was slow enough for me to check out my doppelganger I picked up his ID, his name was Edward Kipling. He had a scar on his hand and in his pocket was a time machine, similar to mine but more rough as if it was made in a junkyard with illegally imported plutonium. It started to reverberate and I saw him accelerate to my speed, he had entered the time hiccup with me. He asked with a Russian accent if I was from the privileged dimension, even though the ID in his pocket claimed he was an American. I could see the envy in his eyes when he found out I was from the benevolent dimension. The jealousy brought him here to erase the benevolent dimension. He pulled out his gun and tried shooting me, I hiccuped the bullet and shot it back to him. He fell on the ground wounded, muttered "farewell" and then teleported.

After that, I just lived his life. The girl's name was Mari. We had countless adventures filled with otherworldly experiences. We spent life times traveling together through great civilizations and we saw the big bang happen a myriad times, it was our haven.

As you know, nothing lasts forever ,something ended the relationship. After all this time with her I discovered that the original edward was living a life in the standard time line. I knew both of us in the same timeline was dangerous for the mandela split. I explained everything to Mari, gave her "normal" memories with no time traveling and only 8 years of marriage. That's where our love story ended.
