Cassie walked at Steve's side as they looked for the chopper they were going to use, and as they found it, an electro-disabler was slammed onto it and the siblings looked up to see Tony and Rhodes descending in their suits.
"Wow, it's so weird how you run into people at the airport. Don't you think that's weird?" Tony mocked as he reached the ground.
"Definitely weird." Rhodes responded.
"I wouldn't know, I've never been." Cassie shrugged, pursing her lips.
Tony ignored her presence and kept his eyes on Steve, agitating her. He seemed to not be blaming her, just like he had protected her amidst the Sokovia accords disagreement. But now, he didn't have option to protect her from the law, so he was doing what he thought was best and bringing her in himself instead of a squad with guns who wouldn't hesitate to shoot.
"Please Tony, listen to me. It wasn't Bucky in Vienna - that doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all of this." Cassie tried to reason, but he avoided her eyes.
"Your view is biased." He shrugged, "You canoodle with the guy for heavens sake."
"Canoodle?" She scoffed, "I'm doing the right thing, and not because of our past."
Tony clenched his jaw as he looked away from her again, bringing his eyes back to Steve who was looking at him sympathetically - he understood he had to bring them in, but he shouldn't.
"You're making a mistake, Man-Eater." Tony assured.
"I really don't like how that name stuck." Cassie shrugged in response.
"Maybe we should talk about the man who gave it to you."
"Maybe we shouldn't." She answered sternly, taking one step closer to where Tony stood.
"He's dead because of you, isn't he?"
Cassie clenched her teeth, knowing who he was on about. She would kill Pierce a hundred times, but not for her own sake. Not for the fact that he had given her a name she hated. Not even for the fact that he was a part of HYDRA. But that he tortured Bucky and made him something he wasn't.
"Back off, Stark." She replied.
"I haven't done anything wrong." He said as he raised his hands either side of his head jokingly.
She knew there was one thing she could say in that moment that could mess with him. One thing she knew about him more than anyone, despite how much it pained her. And now was the time she had the chance to say it.
"I knew your father."
Tony was silent, his face showing no sign of any emotion. But Cassie knew this, and she wasn't done.
"He was a good man."
"I've had enough of this. Underoos!"
Before the siblings could even register it, a man dressed in red and blue and flew over their heads and webbed their hands together, stealing Steve's shield and landing on the roof of a car.
"Cap...Captain. Captain's sister. Big fan, I'm Spider-Man."
"I'm more than Captain America's sister."
"Yeah..Yeah I know I just-"
"Kid, she's messing with you. It's what she does." Tony cut him off.
He looked between Tony and Cassie, processing it all before he sighed and looked down at the ground.
"You've been busy." Steve said.
"And you've been a complete idiot. Dragging in Clint. 'Rescuing' Wanda from a place she doesn't even want to leave, a safe place-"
"She didn't even want to be there!" Cassie argued, but he carried on without acknowledging her.
"I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart." He concluded.
"You did that when you signed." Steve sighed.
"Alright, we're done. You're gonna turn Barnes over, you're gonna come with us."
"You lost me at turning him over, it's not gonna happen."
"We found it. The Quinjet's in hanger five, north runway." Sam said over the radio, causing Steve and Cassie to look at each other.
Steve held up his webbed hands as an arrow came flying towards them, slicing the webs off.
"Got two in the terminal, Wilson and Barnes." Rhodes announced.
"Barnes is mine." T'Challa sounded, causing Cassie to flinch as she didn't even know he was there, "Sorry."
She accepted his apology for accidentally scaring her, but wouldn't forgive him if he ever hurt Bucky, so she chased after him. Her hands were still stuck together considering she didn't hold them up, but she continued the chase anyway - for Bucky.
