You were riding in a taxi to your new home hearing the pattering rain on the windows and listening while closing your eyes.
An hour. Just an hour.
You thought as you slowly drifted to sleep by the lullaby of the rain.
.
.
.
You woke with a start as the driver slammed on the breaks.
"Hey what the hell!?"
"Sorry miss it seems that the heroes won't let us pass. There must be a villain blocking up the roads or something."
"Oh, the hell with this. This is going to take forever." You exclaimed as you opened the door to the car. "Hey, I'll be right back. Stay here." You realized it stopped raining once you took a step out of the car.
"Uh, miss?"
You then ran next to the heroes to see what was happening.
"Hey what are you doing here!? You could get killed, go back to your car!" Yelled Backdraft the fireman hero.
"I'm trying to help. As you can see there are no heroes except minor ones here, and they all don't have the right quirks to help. They are obviously cowards too. What's happening?"
"Stop playing hero kid. Go to your car before you get hurt."
"Ok fine. I'm going to figure it out on my own." You yelled back while running away to see what was happening.
You looked around the corner of a building to see a sludgy-looking villain holding someone hostage.
As you crept up closer, you saw it was a boy with ash-blond hair that looked your age, but you couldn't completely tell. He was being smothered by the slime. Out of reflex, you put your hand out and made a quick portal, then quickly jumped through it to where you ended up right in front of the villain.
"What the hell? Haha, do you think a little girl could beat me!? I could beat all might in one punch thanks to this kid's quirk!" He mocked.
"Hey, I'm not a little girl." You gave a quick glare to the villain then gave a quick bright smile at the ash blond in reassurance. You looked at the boy to see his eyes widen, then squeeze shut for a split second, struggling again. Lifting your fist as you jumped up in the air, you jabbed the villain in his eye and he somewhat released his grip on the boy. He quickly recovered and punched you in the stomach into a nearby building. From what you could tell in your dazed state, a green-haired kid ran up and threw his book bag at the villain, he then proceeded to claw at the slime around the ash blond. He had tears rolling down his face as he yelled something incoherent. You got up quickly and made a portal to the boy.
"Watch out!" You screamed at him as you shoved him out of the way of the attempted punch.
In the process, you got the partial blow of the villain's blast. As you were hurled into a different building this time, your vision started to get more blurry but you quickly focused your mind on the fight and not on your dreariness. You must have broken something at this point.
"H-hey!" The kid screamed at you with a worried look on his face.
You saw the villain approach the kid again and you again made a portal to him and stood in front of him. You then saw a muscly figure out of the corner of your eye.
"Hey. Might wanna dodge." You chuckled with a somewhat cheeky grin.
"Huh?" He said as he turned the way of the figure.
"SMASH!" Screamed the number one hero with a surprisingly stern look on his face, different from the bright cheery one he always wore.
Right after he splattered the villain, you quickly ran to catch the ash blond, and you were successful. It started raining again, due to the punch of the hero.
"Hey, are you ok? I'm sorry I couldn't do anything more than I did." You asked him with a sad smile. He looked away almost immediately.
"Put me down." He muttered.
"Oh. Yeah sorry." You chuckled lightly putting him on his feet. You wouldn't admit but he was pretty heavy so it was a weight off of your shoulders. Literally. As you set him down and stood back up you winced suddenly and leaned your hands down on your knees as your face contorted with pain. You then realized how much pain you were in and felt the two ribs that were broken. You cursed under your breath and you realized that the only reason that you didn't feel much when you broke them was probably due to the adrenaline, and it would really be a pain to wait for them to heal.
"How bad did you get hurt?" He asked in a sort of rude manner, but you could see right through him and tell he was worried. You were always good at reading people. Most of the time.
"Uh. Two broken ribs about. Nothing bad. Just will be a pain to wait for them to heal." You murmured to him while looking up at him a little with a pain-filled smile that he could easily decipher.
"Ok well, you still need to go to the hospital to get it checked out. Dumbass."
I'm worried and thank you.
You know what he meant. But his pride obviously came first in his mind. You could tell.
"Thanks for worrying." You said standing up a bit more than having to lean on your knees again right after.
You could see the shock in his eyes for a moment at you trying to stand up straight then ultimately failing to do so. It disappeared the second it came.
"I'M NOT WORRIED! I-" He was cut off by news reporters surrounding him. He stood there confused for a moment then walked away with his hands in his pockets to the just-arrived heroes who were summoning him away from the reporters.
You chuckled to yourself for a second then tried standing up again and failing. You suddenly felt a person next to you holding you up. You looked over and saw the green-haired boy with a worried look on his face.
"Hey! Are you ok?" You asked with a slight smile on your face.
"I should be the one asking you that. Do you need to go to the hospital?"
"Probably. But I can wait a bit. I want to see what happens with the blonde. And I was wondering where you went too."
"Oh! Kacchan! He'll be fine. He's really strong too!" He said with a bright smile on his face. You could tell he was still in shock from what had just happened though.                                            "Thank you so much for saving me. I would probably be dead if it weren't for you." He bowed deeply while in the middle of his sentence.

"No problem. I'm just glad you're not hurt. I only have two broken ribs so I'll be fine."

"Ok good. W-well I mean it's not good, but it's better than breaking your whole body and stuff...." He continued muttering for a while until you chuckled bringing him back to reality.
"S-sorry I do that a lot."
"So.. what's your name? We never properly introduced ourselves."
