Wow. I guess it's my time... I had stepped on the road with my phone in hand wishing to get across, not paying much regard to my surroundings anddd crash! a car hit me. Fucking idiot.. I'm not in pain.. I don't feel anything really, everything just went black. Come to think of it I can't hear anything either. Damn I'm only 14 I had my whole life ahead of me.. wait.. what's that.. a little girl? Humming? A tune. What is it? It's familiar... Twinkle twinkle little star.. I smiled or what I thought was smiling. Wait, my vision it's fading back in.... A closet?? I'm not dead?! I looked around and opened the door making a little crash as I fell out on the floor.
"oof.." I looked up at a small girl who looked around 6 or 7 dressed in a pink dress and pretty plastic crown holding a small tea cup, she had pretty dirty blonde hair and cool toned green eyes.
"Who are you" she gaped in awe.
"Uh.. I'm roadkill but you can call me rd (ardy) who are you?" I sat up "and where am I if I may ask" I scratched my neck and looked around.
"I'm bird" she smiled sweetly "and this is my room... are you on my guest list for the tea party?" She skipped to the small child's table in the middle of the room with a piece of paper, words scribbled with crayon on it, she didn't seem scared as to why a random person was in her room even adding to the fact, that I look like I do, red hair, dark eye bags and pale.. I looked dead even when I was sure I was alive.
"There you are!" She pointed to a line of scribbles "Come sit" she came over and grabbed my hand dragging me over to a small chair.
"W- okay-" I sat at the chair, my knees nearly higher than the table. She passed me a cup and poured imaginary tea in it. She set down the tea pot and gasped.
"how could I forget!" She got up and ran to a toy chest pulling out a plastic crown with blue gems, she came back over and set it on top of my head.
"You are a beautiful princess!"
"Oh- uh no I'm a prince" I tapped my feet on the floor awkwardly. She paused and I dreaded.. until.
"Even better!!! You can be my knight in shining armor" she squealed and I smiled deciding to play along.
"anything for you m'lady" I bowed and she hopped around giggling.
"Birdy? Who are you talking to?" A woman opened the door. I froze. How was I supposed to explain this to someone?!
"My friendddd, mum" Bird chimed
The woman looked around, looking past me like I was air.
"Oh? And who and where are they" The woman smiled kindly. I tilted my head, completely confused.
"His name is roadkill but he goes by rd and he is right hereeee" Bird Pat my head. Her mom looked concerned at the name, I smiled
"Ohhh uh is this another imaginary friend?" ...
