Dianthe
Jul 30th
I run my hands through the soft yellow petals of the sunflowers as the sun dries up my body.
I close my eyes as I try to relax. My body tired from the swimming for an hour or two...or three.
Even though the cool water of the lake calms my body down, it still gets tired at some point.
Taking deep breaths I start talking, "Hey Mom, I hope you're doing well, remember to actually rest, and also, don't worry I'm not dating anyone. I know you want me to get married young and have an arranged marriage but anyways" I laugh sadly to myself. "Hey Zoe, you want to hear some gossip? Well too bad, nothing has changed since last week, and no, Anna is nothing compared to you. No one is better than you..." I whisper at the end. "I'll talk to you guys next week...bye" I say and open my eyes.
I sit myself up on the blanket I have and I reach into my bag, taking out my phone and scroll through my playlist on Spotify. I click shuffle play and one of my favorite songs come on.
Listen to the wind blow
Down comes the nightBreak the silence
Damn the dark
Damn the lightAnd if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chainAnd if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain
You would never break the chainListen to the wind blow
Oh, watch the sun riseRunning in the shadows
Damn your love
Damn your liesBreak the silence
Damn the dark
Damn the lightAnd if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chainAnd if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chainAnd if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain
You would never break the chainChain, keep us together
Chain, keep us together
Chain, keep us together
Chain, keep us togetherChain, keep us together
Chain, keep us together
Chain, keep us together
Chain, keep us togetherAnd if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain
You would never break the chainI stop dancing on my spot and I check the time, as I hear the song stop.
7:34p.m.
I put on the clothes I had on earlier, my white crop top, a sports button up, and black jeans.
