I push my shades further up the bridge of my nose as I walk down the city streets with my three best friends, laughing at something utterly stupid one of them just said. The day was flying by fast as we decided we wanted to spend a day together in the city, going into random stores and buying random shit we don't need.

It was a nice way to escape the stress of school as we were attempting to complete our final year of high school. Well, I knew I was passing with flying colours, but Jack, on the other hand, schools just not his thing. It was still nice to escape the stress of constantly studying to get the high marks I have.

We were just messing around in some random candle shop we stumbled across, just smelling random ones and whatnot. Personally, I really like candles and I know Jonah does too, my personal favourite is the lavender scented ones, there just something about lavender that's just so relaxing and appealing.

We didn't spend much time in there because Jack and Daniel became bored pretty fast since candles aren't their cup of tea. As we were leaving the candle store Jack kept mumbling something about hearing someone screaming for help, but the rest of us hearing nothing.

We continued to leave the store and start walking down the streets again while searching for a new store to explore. As we were walking Jack kept looking back over his shoulder as if he was worried about something that was happening behind him, but every time I looked behind us there was nothing but people just minding their own business walking behind us.

"Jack, you good?" Daniel finally spoke up as he put a hand on Jack's shoulder, only causing him to flinch at the contact, gaining suspicious looks from all of us. "Dude, what's wrong?" He asks as we all come to a halt, moving more to one side of the sidewalk so we weren't blocking anybody.

"Do you guys seriously not hear that?" Jack asks with a worried expression place across his face. Clearly, something was bothering him as he stared back down the sidewalk.

"Hear what?" Jonah asks as he furrowed his brows looking down the sidewalk, trying to spot what Jack was looking at. We all kind of stand there in silence, not knowing exactly what to do, until Jack covers his ears and falls to the ground in a clear state of panic.

"I can't take it anymore!" Jack yells catching the attention of several bystanders who just give him a weird look before continuing on their way, "Make it stop!" He screams as I quickly jump down to his level, crouching before him.

"Make what stop Jack? What's going on?" I ask in a somewhat calming tone as I try to keep calm but on the inside, I'm insanely worried for my best friend.

"His screams," Jack mumbles still covering his ears as his body shakes, I give the other boys a worried look before placing a comforting hand on Jack's knee. I open my mouth to speak but that's when I hear it, a faint scream of a boy. My head snaps up as I look behind me down the sidewalk, I see nothing but curious people looking back as well.

"Stop! Stop! Stop! Leave me alone! Please!" The faint pleads of the boy near as all of a sudden a few people move and I see a boy running down the sidewalk.

I freeze in place, unsure of what to do when I gasp as two larger men grab a hold of the boy as he thrashes around to get away. No one seems to be doing anything, just standing around watching as the boy struggles against the men, one holds him around the chest, pinning his arms down as he holds him slightly above the ground while the other reaches into a briefcase.

I hear several gasps come across the crowd that stand around as the man pulls a large syringe out of the briefcase. My hand flies to cover my mouth as he stabs the boy in the neck with the syringe, pushing a strange liquid into the boy's body. I can't seem to look away from the scene happening aways before me, but yet again I can't seem to do anything either, all I can do is watch.
