I'm walking home on a normal New York night,(A)

Rounding the corner two stones are lit up, side by side(B)

My eyes tear up at the sight(A)

As I gaze upon the scene where thousands died(B)

A memory of fire, smoke and death fill the air(C)

I, once again, am taken back to a time of fear(D)

When two planes and terror filled this Manhattan square,(C)

When people were praying for everyone that was here(D)

I remember hearing the second crash(E)

Of another plane, from the terrorist attack(F)

Soon there was only falling ash(E)

Covering the streets with a foggy black(F)

The memory fades into the present day(G)

Where only the twin towers' footprints lay(G)
