Amelia never really thought that she'd leave home. She figured that if she ever moved, it would be in the same state; or at least the same country. She just has so many thoughts running through her head;
What will my life be like? What if people don't like me? What will happen?
Overthinking. It's not a new thing for Amelia. She gets anxious when things like this happen. It's normal for her.
She doesn't want to move. She wants to stay here in Washington with her friends. She can't believe that her dad is actually forcing her mom, her sister, and herself to move. Amelia's mom tried to tell her husband that they wanted to stay here, but he never listens to what his family has to say about things.
After packing her bags, Amelia finally hears her mom call her,
"Amelia! Time to go!"
The teenager sighs deeply and heads downstairs, almost tripping on the last step.
"I'll miss this place," Amelia murmured. "This is goodbye, I guess." She rubbed her hand on the scratchy wallpaper and walked out the front door towards the car, where her sister was waiting.
This is not going to be good.
