"You know Katsuki that blood looks really good on you. It really brings out your eyes."
"It's fake." Katsuki said, groaning at the corny pick-up line."You know this, we're literally going to a Halloween party now! Get ready to Baku-GO otherwise, I'm leaving without your ass."
Eijiro stuck his tongue out before diving through the bathroom door, narrowly avoiding an impatient and now angry Katsuki grabbing at his shoulder.
They were supposed to be on their way to Mina's party, she loved hosting and was always trying to throw something together. She'd try to host anything from Izuku's last birthday party to things like father's day. They didn't always work of course, but the bigger holiday parties were her prime time, so Halloween was bound to be amazing.
Of course, they'd only be attending if Eijiro would hurry up already. "What's taking you so long!" Katsuki practically groaned through the bathroom door.
"So your makeup takes 2 hours but mine taking 20 minutes is long?"
"Well yeah! We were supposed to leave 10 minutes ago! Plus I still don't know what your costume is."
"Well... be patient! You know this has to be perfect."
"Actually no I don't, again I don't even know who or what you are yet."
"God, you don't understand the word patient do you" Eijiro chuckled as Katsuki lightly knocked on the door.
"Come on man, you promised 15 minutes tops, I knew you were lyi-"
Katsuki's jaw dropped as the door was harshly thrown open, nearly missing his face. His boyfriend of 3 years stood there wearing a full angel costume, halo included. Which was currently being held up by a few stiff peaks of hair which Katsuki immediately reached out to poke. Eijiro grabbed Katsuki's wrist quickly, knowing exactly what would happen since he first thought up the idea a few weeks ago.
"Bro, you should have been a demon, what angel has red hair?" Katsuki quipped.
"One, I wasn't going for accuracy, I wanted to look good. Two, do I act like a demon? No. Three, I too want to have thousands of eyeballs."
"Uhhh ok but this means we won't match this year"
"I mean if we stop at a store one of them is bound to have one pair of devil horns? You already got the murderer look, so it would match quite nicely" Eijiro smiled happily with his suggestion. "Plus that way we'd have a blond demon and a redhead angel and who wouldn't love that? It'd be like opposite day!"
"Fine well stop at Inku's on the way there, but I am keeping the blood on, it took way too long to only wear for 30 minutes."
"I would know, I sat here watching youtube for 2 hours"
"Oh shut up"
Eijiro gave Katsuki a playful shove before running to grab his keys.
"LAST ONE TO THE CAR HAS TO TALK TO THE CASHIER!" He yelled, already halfway down the stairs of their house.
"Oh for fucks sake" Katsuki muttered to himself before jumping down all 6 steps and bounding towards Eijiro.
...
He was just short of beating the redhead to the car, but after a convincing argument, Eijiro bought the horns. He was excited to show off his costume so the argument was over in under 5 minutes.
"So now what?" Katsuki asked when his boyfriend returned.
"Well they're just a headband so we don't have to go home to get any hairspray but we do need a mirror."
Katsuki looked around, eyes landing on the car's side mirrors, before his boyfriend could react, he thrust his top half out of the window, grabbing the packaged horns from the other's hands. He quickly placed them on while repeatedly checking placement in the mirror. After which he looked to the redhead to double-check that they looked good, after getting approval he leaned back through the window and buckled himself in. Eijiro just smiled and shook his head before also buckling up and starting the car.
...
When they arrived the music was already blaring apparently, Mina was trying to get another noise complaint. Stepping out of the car Eijiro reached into the back seat grabbing his boyfriend's black hoodie and putting it on, careful not to break any of his costume parts. Katsuki watched him slowly slip the jacket on before intervening.
"Is that mine?"
"Yeah, I figured I'd use it cause it's slightly bigger than the one I brought and these wings aren't made very well."
"I thought I'd lost that hoodie. Has it been in your car this whole time?."
"I mean it's been there at least 2 months, you can have it back after tonight though if you want it. I'll just take a different one later."
Katsuki rolled his eyes."You better not lose it tonight or you'll have to get me a new one."
Eijiro rolled his eyes and walked to Mina's front door which was surprisingly just sitting open. He still knocked on the side of the door before they entered, it was barely audible because of the blasting music.
Many people praised Eijiro on his amazing costume, others told them how nice the matching costumes were. Surprisingly no one had brought alcohol but they had training the next day so it would have been a bad idea anyhow. Try sparring with a hangover, it's not as fun as it sounds. The party wasn't all that much, they had danced to Thriller at least three times. This was of course after a lot of convincing on Eijiro's part that it was "one of the best Halloween dancing songs ever." They chatted with friends about classes and Katsuki repeatedly offered to show people how to do the special effects without any makeup. His quirk flared up more than once as he did so. This was followed by the redhead taking him up to one of the rooms in the house and holding him while he calmed down.
After the fifth time someone pissed him off, Katsuki was ready to head home, but he didn't want to ruin his boyfriend's night. When Eijiro went to the restroom during one of the calm down sessions, Katsuki took off down the stairs and out of the house. He planned to wait in the car but after attempting to open the door he remembered that he didn't have the keys. He was already planning excuses but before he even managed to turn back towards the house the car beeped as the locks clicked open. He looked over to see the redhead, his head tilted as he smiled sweetly.
Eijiro had initially panicked before realizing Katsuki couldn't have gone that far unless he planned on breaking into their own car or hitching a ride. Neither of which he really wanted so he hurriedly said his goodbyes while walking to their car. He got outside just as the blonde was removing his hand from the handle, his shoulders slumping down and his head hanging low. He was still facing away when Eijiro unlocked the car, he saw Katsuki jump a bit but the redhead knew he'd never admit to that. Katsuki turned towards his boyfriend who could now see the tears running down his cheeks, he opened the car door slowly and got in sitting down and closing his eyes as he shut the door. He didn't want to be a nuisance but it appeared that's all he was being right now. Eijiro got into the car still smiling and yawned before buckling in and looking towards the blond. He never put the keys in till everyone was buckled up, so he had to place his right hand lightly on the blond's shoulder reminding him wordlessly. He knew that right now silence was the best thing for his partner, they'd done this plenty of times before and although Katsuki was getting better there were still some days that overwhelmed him. Eijiro kept a smile on his face the whole ride home so that if the blonde would look up he wouldn't think he was frustrated or upset, he truly wasn't upset, only worried for his partner. The silent ride home gave Eijiro time to think of something to cheer up Katsuki, but it just gave the blond time to think about how he had ruined the evening. Looking over to see the smiling redhead did lighten the guilt a little but he still felt bad about everything.
...
When they finally pulled into their driveway Katsuki was asleep in the passenger seat, no need for cheering him up then. Eijiro was glad the hero training had made him strong, scooping up the blonde and being careful not to hit him off of anything, he walked up the stairs and into their house. His partner's sleeping body stirred a bit but did not wake when he was placed on their shared bed, Eijiro was glad for this but wasn't sure he'd be able to remove the makeup without startling the blond awake. He didn't want it to stain worse than it already had though and he remembered the remover he had bought the blond a few weeks ago. Katsuki often liked to mess around with SFX makeup so Eijiro had bought him makeup remover so he wouldn't injure the sensitive skin of his face trying to get the makeup off. Before receiving the remover Katsuki would scrub until he couldn't tell the red of his face from the red of the makeup because of how harshly he'd been washing. Even better, the brand of fake blood he chose had a good consistency and color but was more known for how bad it stained after using, so he wanted to remove it before heading to rest himself. Grabbing a darker colored rag, wetting it with warm water and then getting the makeup remover from their bathroom before sitting lightly back beside his boyfriend. He got to work, double-checking that the cloth wasn't too hot before adding the cleanser to it and lightly wiping a generous amount of the blood off of the blond's cheeks, forehead, and jaw. The staining was slightly worse than he thought it would be, it looked as if Katsuki had tried to apply forty uneven layers of dark red blush to his pale face, the red was patchy and would definitely take time to remove without being harsh. After walking to the bathroom to wash out the now dirty and cold rag and make sure it was warm again Eijiro was back, applying slightly more pressure trying to remove more of the tint.
...
After getting as much off as he could, the redhead took all the cleaning supplies back to the bathroom and threw the cloth into the hamper before jumping into bed himself. Lightly tugging the covers from under the blond's sleeping form he wraps himself around his boyfriend, the smell of cleaner and cologne still in the air. Eijiro starts to pull the covers over both of them before realizing the other was already quite warm, most likely from the use of his quirk earlier. Pushing the covers back down he snuggles up to the blond before closing his eyes and letting out a sigh. The light morse code taps of "thanks" and "love you" on his thigh as he dozes off making him smile, nothing could be better than right now.
