Chapter 4
My mom drummed his fingers on the stearing whell of the car. It was clear that she was angry with me.
"Victoria Jamie Emberglass" she began "Why would you light a bathroom on fire?" She stared at me in the rearview mirror, and I stared back.
"I've tried to tell you, I didn't!!" I told her. She sighed and gripped the wheel so tightly, her knuckled were white.
"Fine don't tell me" she said, warningly "You will be grounded for three weeks." I opened my mouth to protest, but we turned into the driveway, and mom jumped out of the car, slamming the door. I slung my backpack across my shoulder and followed her.
"Victoria" she said, trying to keep her voice calm "You will go to your room, and will not come out until I say you can. I have to figure out how we are going to pay for the damages you caused." Then she stormed into the house, leaving me alone in the yard. Then I went inside and ran up to my room before my mom could give me anymore punishments.
When in my room, I tried doing my homework, but I was too angry at the school. I tried reading books, but all the ones I tried mentioned fire or school. So I just accepted my fate and took a nap.
