Nymerial was leading her horse through the forest with Aragorn and the other Hobbits behind her. They had travelled all night, now was almost morning and they haven't rested. Nymerial passed some trolls turned to stone as Sam came next to Frodo and said

"Look, Mister Frodo! It's Mister Bilbo's trolls!"

Frodo didn't look at the trolls and when Sam felt his forehead, he said to Aragorn

"He's going cold!"

Pippin then asked, worried about his friend

"Is he going to die?"

Aragorn answered with a grim voice

"He's passing into the shadow world. He will soon become a Wraith like them."

They heard the cries of the Ringwraiths and it seemed like Frodo was trying to answer them.

"They're close!" said Nymerial. Aragorn then asked from Sam

"Sam, do you know the Athelas plant?"

"Athelas?"

"Kingsfoil."

"Kingsfoil-aye, it's a weed."

"It may help to slow the poison. Hurry!"

Sam, Aragorn and Nymerial started to search for the plant.

As she was searching, she heard footsteps behind her. She silently took her knives out of the straps on her arms, so the knives were behind her fingers. Nymerial then sneaked behind her attacker, put one hand with the knives near the mystery person's throat and said

"You should know better not to sneak up to people in the dark!"

The person under her knives said back with a familiar voice

"Still on guard as always, Nymerial?"

"Arwen?" she asked as she removed her knives. The mystery person turned around and looked into Nymerial's mint green eyes

"Yes."

The old friends hugged and Nymerial told about Frodo. She told Arwen to find Aragorn and return to Frodo. She would go and find Sam. She didn't need to look long as she found the Hobbit near the resting place.

As she made her way to Frodo, Nymerial saw Arwen who spoke to Frodo, she said

"Frodo...Im Arwen.(I am Arwen.) Telin le thaed.(I have come to help you.) Lasto beth nin.(Hear my voice.) Tolo dan na ngalad.(Come back to the light.)"

Merry asked from Sam

"Who is she?"

"She's an Elf."

Aragorn tore some Athelas and chewed it a bit so the juices would come out. He then put it onto the wound in Frodo's shoulder.

Arwen then said to the two rangers

"He's not going to last. We must get him to my father. I've been looking for you for two days. There are five Wraiths behind you. Where the other four are, I do not know."

Aragorn put Frodo onto Arwen's horse and looked her into her eyes

"Dartho guin perian.(Stay with the Hobbits.) Rych le ad tolthathon (I will send horses back for you)."

"Hon mabathon. (I'm the fastest rider.) Rochon ellint im.(I'll take him.)"

"Andelu I ven.(The road is too dangerous.)"

"Frodo fir. (Frodo's dying.) Ae athradon ihir, tur gwaith nin beriatha hon. (If I can get across the river, the power of my people will protect him.)"

Nymerial then said to Aragorn

"I am going with her. Amani can ride fast and when we reach the field before the river, I can call for my family for help."

Arwen added

"We do not fear them."

Aragorn knew that nothing could change their minds and said

"Be iest lin. (As you wish.)"

Arwen mounted her horse and Nymerial jumped onto her midnight one. She heard Aragorn say as they started to ride off

"Arwen, Nymerial, ride hard. Don't look back!"

Night gave way to day and the first rays of light shone on the coats of Nymerial's and Arwen's horses. Amani, with a pitch black coat, could run freely next to a snow white Elf horse. Nymerial and Arwen made it to the field and the ranger did something that some people would have labeled as strange. She howled and not even a minute later she heard an answer 'They're coming.'. But then the girls heard something that made their blood freeze, the shriek of the Wraiths.

The nine soon made their way to the fields too, and started to chase the horses. Luckily for Nymerial, her family, the pack of wolves who took her in, came out of the forest in front of her and surrounded Nymerial and Arwen so the Black Rider wouldn't get too close. They soon made it into the thin forest that's next to the river. The wolves had some trouble keeping their pack member surrounded because of the trees but when a Wraith tried to make Frodo, one of the wolves managed to bite the Wraith's horse's leg.

Nymerial, Arwen with Frodo and the pack finally got to the river and ran to the other side. The Nazguls had to stop because their horses refused to go into the water, they started to buck and scream, terrified to go into the river. One of the Riders spoke to Arwen

"Give up the halfing, She-Elf."

Arwen challenged, as she and Nymerial drawed out their swords

"If you want him, come and claim him!"

The Black Riders started to face their horses into the clear river water with their swords out and over their heads. Arwen began to chant

"Nin o Chitlaeglir, lasto beth daer, Rimmo nin Bruinen, dan in Ulair! (Waters of the Misty Mountains, listen to the great word, flow waters of Loudwater, against the Ringwraiths!) Nin o Chitlaeglir, lasto beth daer, Rimmo nin Bruinen, dan in Ulair!"

The river water started to rise with great speed, the current beginning to get stronger. Soon enough, a giant wave came towards the Ringwraiths, with watery white horses at the crests. It washed away the beasts and slowly started to take its normal form.

Frodo started to slip off from the horse so Arwen laid him onto the ground. Nymerial came down from her horse, went over to him and laid his head on her lap. Arwen started to panic

"No! Frodo...No! Frodo, don't give in! Not now!"

Nymerial heard the footsteps of the man who had saved her life. His voice echoed through the forest

"Lasto beth nin. (Hear my voice.) Tolo dan na ngalad. (Come back to the light.)"
