THE ROOM NEXT TO MINE (revised version)
One-shot horror story

Finally! Christmas break na! That only means having a lot of time to sleep, and a hell of a lot time to relax. It would've been nice if we just stayed at home, but it's nicer now that we're here in Tagaytay for a family vacation. It's cool here, away from all the polluted air of the metro.

We're currently staying in a house—more like a mansion—owned by the sister of my mother's friend. Everything's perfect! The house's big enough to accommodate maybe  up to ten people—one room, one person. We don't even have to turn the air-conditioning on. Free WiFi. What's better than having free WiFi? And what makes this stay even cooler is that we don't have to pay! Yes! Thanks, of course to my mother's friend—who she just met maybe a month ago.

This is our first night here. The third floor's vacant, sabi nung caretaker kakaalis lang daw nung nag-stay dun. At least maso-solo namin ang mansion—and pretend like it's really ours—even for a short period of time.

Anyway, it's already a quarter after two in the morning, so I guess I need to sleep already. I just finished taking a hot shower. Very very relaxing. Uh-uh. On the second thought, I'll surf the net pala muna. My laptop's still inside my bag and my phone's on the bedside table. The room's effin' big, it's so draining just walking from one end to the other. I think I'll bring my knapsack na lang closer to my bed, para hindi na ko pabalik-balik. Kinuha ko muna yung phone ko to see if someone sent me a message then I walked towards the other end of the room, kung saan nakalapag lahat ng gamit ko.

Gosh, my bag weighs like a hundred kilos or more. I hope you can imagine the struggle I'm currently feeling. Inaangat ko lang nang inaangat yung bag, pero I think it's time I should stop using my phone for a moment, ang hirap mag-multitask ha!

When I'm about to press the power button on the side of my phone to lock it, para siyang nag-dive, at ayun, nahulog! Sa ilalim pa ng kama! Are you kidding me? I'm not crawling under that king-sized bed. It just means na kailangan ko pa ulit kunin yung walis na nandun ulit sa kabilang dulo. This is so exhausting, okay!

"This is freaking annoying." I feel sleepy na eh! I thought masaya magkaroon ng isang malaking kwarto, at malaking bahay, but no!

So kinuha ko na nga yung broom, and walked back to my bed with matching irap irap because sobrang naiinis na talaga ako. The way it fell kanina, you'll know na sa bandang gitna siya mapupunta eh. I should've checked first! Pinagod ko lang pala ang sarili ko!

Pinulot ko yung phone ko and placed the broom beside the table, alangan namang ibalik ko pa sa pinagkuhanan ko. Then humiga na ko sa comfy bed na 'to. After an exhausting day, kapag ganito naman ka-komportable yung hihigaan mo, marerelax ka talaga.

Kinuha ko yung laptop inside my bag and placed it beside me. I don't log out, so automatically when I open Facebook, it brings me straight to my newsfeed.

Aside from my notifications and friend requests, mas inuuna ko talagang i-check ang messages ko.

So, ayun na nga, I opened my messages, turns out it's just our class's group chat. Another hopia for the hopia queen. Then the chatbox appeared.

Kilala mo ba ako:
Ashley

Who is this? I don't remember adding or accepting someone named Kilala mo ba ako. Siguro nangti-trip lang 'to.
