@TheWorldTurns Can you explain it to me a bit more, please? If I get it right, what you mean is that they do not age physically, aka they look like they are 25 but they age internally? Because in order for their cells do be replaced and their possible wounds to be healed at least some kind of aging process must take place.

@lottus That's a good question. When I say they don't age past about their mid 20's I don't really mean their bodies don't change. They would have to in order to be able to heal for example, which is another thing I find wrong with the living dead vampires. Dead things can't heal so any wounds should technically remain. My version of vampires are very much the same as humans in that their cells are always replacing themselves, but the cells just don't decay in the same way a humans do. So female vampires would still menstruate in the same way as humans, and that wouldn't be a problem to other vampires because vampires don't crave other vampire blood. With Rome, she didn't spend that much time with Ly before she knew what he was and after she would avoid him during that time of the month. They would have had other lessons together during Rome's period but that's something I didn't really explore, probably because I didn't think it that important to the plot and it would have been a little awkward for me to write about. Looking back I probably should have included something about it, but they only knew each other for around six months before Rome found out Ly was a vampire so it wouldn't have been a huge issue. I hope that all makes sense. Also let me know when you publish the analysis so I can broadcast it on my message board!

@TheWorldTurns You don't even have to thank me. To be completely honest I had so much fun when I was writing the analysis. I admire and respect you greatly as an author and I thought that by writing this I could give you some insight about the characters and the plot. I hadn't thought about it before, but now that you mentioned it, actually, I want to publish it as one of my works and if you are willing to promote it, that would be most helpful. Most probably I am going to publish it within the next week. Thank you so much for the offer. One more thing: there is an issue that's been bugging me for a long time but I always forget to ask you. You have mentioned that vampires age normally like humans until they reach 25 more or less and then they remain the same. If this is the case, how does the issue of pregnancy work? I mean that female vampires in order to conceive have to menstruate. Menstruation is part of the aging process and apart from that, if they don't age, that also means that their bodies do not change. So, how do their bodies adapt to acommodate the foetus and afterwards the baby as it grows? In vampire literature that has always been an inconsistency since supposedly vampires shouldn't even be able to have sex due to being cold and undead. But one can say that everything is possible since they are supernatural creatures, no matter how feeble this arguement is. In your story, though, this is not the case as vampires are creatures of the natural world and therefore can have sex. For instance when I first read about Tricia's pregnancy I was ok with it but after reading the story again and again I realized that there was something inconsistent. Also, one more question: in vampire fiction when there is a couple and the woman is menstruating the vampire usually goes berserk with blood lust and sexual lust. I am just wondering how does Ly deal with this whole situation when Rome menstruates. I imagine it must be extra hard for him due to his blood addiction.

@lottus Ok, I had to read the analysis twice just to make sure I read it correctly. First off I just want to say thanks so much for it, I can see you put a lot of effort in and it really does mean a lot that you could spend so much time on writing something like that for me. 
I think you're 100% correct in what you've written, even though I hadn't noticed a lot of it while I was writing. Especially the part where you talk about Ly's oral fixation. I had no idea how much of a fixation he had until I read your analysis! You also summed up Ly perfectly, his unreliability when recounting, his duality, his possessiveness.
When I wrote Fear and Blood, for me it was about prejudice and racism. Fear of things that are different just because they are different and how people hold on to those fears even though times and circumstances may have changes. Rome and Ly's characters were about bridging that gap and about how even people with deep, ingrained hatred can change. Your analysis took things to a new level and I see things in my story that I didn't before.
Thanks again for this and you can post it up wherever you like. I segest you publish it as one of your works, if that's ok with you. It might need a few changes so it doesn't sound like you're talking only to me though. I would promote it on my page and at the end of my chapters if you were willing to publish it.
