These past two weeks have flown by, I've been working a lot but on my days off I've been at home with my family.
It's coming up to December now, just a week to go and then it's the Christmas countdown!!
It'll be socially acceptable to play Christmas music out loud. Not like I haven't been doing it for months though!
Today is meant to be the first day back at school but I have some 'royal duties' to attended to.
Which is basically me having to go to meet all of the eligible people that I can marry.
I travelled there in the early hours of this morning in hopes I can make it for the second half of the day.
"Mum, I don't want to do this" i say
"Well unfortunately you don't have a choice" she says as we walk through a palace
She turns to me, "Lily, I don't want this for you either. It's so stupid this rule and I wish I did more in my power to change it. Unfortunately now parliament won't really take me into consideration since your father and I are stepping down in a few months"
"Okay, when I become queen it's going to be a sacrifice I will make so that other generations don't have to go through what I'm going to go through. I'm doing to make a change" I say and she smiles
"That's great, I'm so proud of you. But through those doors are the three possible men you will meet who may become your husband" she says and i nod
The doors get opened for us and we walk inside and my eyes land on one person in particular.

Who is also the first guy i have ever been with, who is also a massive self absorbed know it all.
"Lily!" Matthew says
"Matt!" I say faking excitement
"Who would have thought it eh? You getting married" he says
"Not us!" Matthew says
"Yeah, well it's the things I'll do for my country" i say before turning to the other two.
"Hello I'm Lily" i say
"Jordan" he says
"And I'm Harold" he say snobbishly looking me up and down before glaring
"Well it's nice to meet you" i say
"How do you know Matt?" Jordan asks
"Oh we ho-" Matt beings but I cut him off
"Matthew, I'd like to remind you that my mother is in the room" i say
"Oh shit! Sorry!" He says
What has my life come to?
"So how is this going to work out? They just decide between themselves?" I ask my mum
"Yes, they are meant to propose to you on your birthday in England" she says and i nod, "where you will then go outside and announce it to everyone about you getting engaged"
"Right on my birthday, in April.... six months away" i say and my mum nods
Jordan seems nice though, Prince of Morocco I believe.
"So everyones alright with an arranged marriage then?" I ask them
"I would rather be ruling my own country but I guess your scrappy seconds will do" Harold says and I scoff
"Excuse me?" I ask
"Lily" my mum warns and I sigh
"Come on, your just a girl. You can't do anything, you won't be able to make a difference without a husband. No one will take you seriously on your own" Harold says and I just stare at him.

I rush into the canteen.
Everyone looks at me as I rush over to Lydia, Lexie and Izzy, "come with me"
"What's going on?"
"How was it?"
They all follow me out of the canteen and we reach outside.
I turn around to them, "I can't do this"
"Wait lily, calm down" Lexie says
"No I can't calm down" I say, "on my birthday one of those three buffoons asks me to marry them. I have to say yes. Then we go announce it to hundreds of press"
"Who are they?" Lydia asks
"Matt" i say and Lexie gasps
"Wait Matt your first..." she trails off and i nod
"Matt the selfobsessed one?" She asks
"Yeah he's a prick" I say
"Then Harold" i say, "said my country is sloppy seconds, he's worse than Matt"
"Who's the last one?" Izzy asks
"Jordan, Prince of Morocco" i say
"He's nice though! I've met him" Lexie says
"So marry him" Lydia says, "it's all sorted"
"No! Not it's not that simple! They chose between themselves! He won't stand a chance against those idiots!" I shout.
"Lily calm down" Lexie says and i start to tear up
"I don't want to do this, I don't want to get married. I shouldn't have a man control my life! It's not fair" i say my voice breaking and they all hug me
"Oh lily I'm sorry this is happening to you" Lexie says
"It's not just happened to me, it's been a stupid rule for years. For generations, I want to change it, i do. I just don't want to have to marry someone for people to change it" i say
"You could always have him killed once your get married" Lydia says and i chuckle
"I wish that was possible" i mumble
