Chapter 23

Author's POV

Waiting anxiously outside the OT for an hour just to hear anything about their loved one.
Ayaan informed about Ahad's condition to his family as soon as they heard reached the hospital in minutes.

Roohi was another case who didn't utter a word since he was taken in. Eyes on the OT while her heart beating just for the person inside it.
She couldn't imagine her life without him.

Mehreen was crying her eyes out which caused her BP to spiked up. So she had to reluctantly go back home with Maham.

After a complete hour , the doctors have come out of OT , roohi whose eyes were fixed on it came rushing towards them.
"How is my husband doing?" She asked hoping he was perfectly fine. Voice horse as she hasn't spoke in few hours.

"Mr Ahad condition is a lot better. We tried to look out for an internal bleeding in brain thankfully we couldn't find any. But we have to keep him under observation for next 24 hours just to be careful. We have induced him in coma to give his brain a rest." As the doctor spoke Roohi legs faltered as she heard the word coma.

It was Ibrahim who caught her."baba .....ah...Ahad " she couldn't even speak properly.

"Be strong beta Allah swt will surely make him alright" he said controlling his fears and give the moral strength she needed.

It was known to everyone that Roohi was a very sensitive girl and she cherished her family a lot even though she never expressed it verbally, but her actions says a lot.

"Can I meet him?" She asked in a whisper.

"Yes just in few minutes but only one person is allowed at a time. " with that they left away.

"Roohi beta go in"Ibrahim said to Roohi who was impatiently waiting to go in.
"Ji baba"with that she dashed in to see him.

There he was lying on the bed with things attach to his body sleeping peacefully yet the warmth and calmness have disappeared his face.
she slowly walked to him and sat beside him and gently took his hands in hers and it lacked the comfort he always provided.

And just like that she couldn't help but breakdown.
"Please......aha....Ahad...uth jao...I...I can't see you like this " roohi stammered. She just couldn't vocalize and sat there holding his hands in hers close to her heart to feel anything of him to them.

After a while, a nurse told Roohi that visiting hours are over and she must leave . She didn't realize that half an hour have already passed. Giving him a forehead kiss and mumbling some dua she left.

When she left the ward Ibrahim and Rayyan were patiently standing there for her . When she saw them she realised that they must have also been waiting to meet him.

"Baba I'm sorry mujhe zehan se Nikal gaya tha ki aap log bhi wait kar rahe honge" she said and felt guilty to spend the whole time.

"It's okay beta, we can meet him tomorrow. We must head home its already late" with that trio left the hospital.

Roohi couldn't help but consider herself at fault to what happened to him. She was dreading what if they have accuse her for all this. All through the journey she was overthinking with different scenarios.

Rayyan left them near the gate itself saying it was late and meet them in the morning.

In the Khan Rehaish mehreen was walking to and fro waiting for them.
"Assalamualikum " they spoke once they entered home.
"Walaikumsalam how is he? Why have you both come back who is staying with him"she bombarded the question on them.
