"Come again?"

Noelle asked quietly with wide eyes.

"Huh? What? I was just asking Yuno since when he wanted to become the wizard king..."

A confused boy replied normally to the girl.

The aura in the room became darker by every second. Nero, Yuno, Noelle and Julius were frozen. Uneasiness filled up the entire room.

"Well....do you know who I am...?"
Julius asked with a crooked smile.

"You're the wizard king! Ofcourse, who wouldn't know you?"
Julius let a sigh of relief but got tensed the next second again.

"....shit..."
Noelle placed her hands around her mouth and nose and turned away.
"Noelle? What's wrong?"

"Asta? Do you know who I am?"
Nero asked, frightened by his first question.

"What's going on?! All of you are asking me such obvious questions!"

"Asta."

Yuno deadpanned. Asta turned to Yuno.

"Do you remember our promise?"

"........promise?"

Yuno's eyes looked normal. Like nothing happened.
"The promise we made that snowy night."

"Oh yeah, you said that--that--you said--"

Asta's stuttering gained all eyes on him

"You said--you--"
"Asta."
"Huh?"
"Do you remember our promise?"
"Yes! You said--said-"

They waited.

".........what did you say? You said...something like...I'll never cry around you ever again....? And you also said...that..."

Everyone watched with eager eyes.

"You would become the wizard king...you promised that you'd become the wizard king."

Everyone sighed happily and exchanged glances. But not Yuno.

"Say that again, Asta?"
"...you promised that you would become the wizard king.."

Yuno got off his chair and grabbed Asta's collar.

"Yuno-Kun!"
"Yuno..."

"SAY THAT AGAIN! PROPERLY!"

Asta was shook by his sudden actions.

"Did I..Say something wrong..?"
"YES YOU DID! I NEVER PROMISED THAT I'D BECOME THE WIZARD KING!"

Yuno pulled harder on his collar.

"YOU....YOU...!!"

Yuno was breathing heavily through his teeth.

"WE PROMISED THAT WE WOULD FIGHT TO SEE WHO BECOMES THE WIZARD KING!! I WAS NEVER ALONE ON THIS! NEVER!!"

Yuno's head dropped low. His throat hurt, like there were thorns poking at it from inside.

"Atleast...tell me...what do you wanna become when you grow up..?"

"..I...wanna become someone who can change the Clover Kingdom, and remove all the discrimination..."

"And how are you going to do that..?"

Something struck inside Asta. A weird thought. He had decided how to change the Clover Kingdom, and he wanted to say it immediately, but something stopped him.
