Soon, we heard cheering and bright neon colors.

We were at the Capitol.

Amira showed us to the penthouse we'd be staying in.

We had dinner, spaghetti. Served by an Avox.

Her hair was blonde and pulled into a messy ponytail and she looked exhausted. I flashed her a look of sympathy.

Evan devoured it in one gulp and immediately asked for more.

I ate mine slowly.

Even though I wanted to do what Evan did, I wanted to be smart.

I didn't want to get used to overeating, because I'd get get in the arena and die quicker.

If I ate less, I'd adapt easier to the arena.

I could see Amira making faces at Evan's eating.

But in all honesty, I couldn't blame him.

We all went up to our rooms for the night.

I took a shower and got into my pajamas: a white T-shirt and black shorts.

My bed was huge and the sheets were the color of ash.

They guessed my personality already: simple and boring.

I couldn't sleep.

"By the river, under the rock." I thought, even though I didn't want to.

I tossed and turned.

"Stop thinking and go to sleep. Clear your mind." I thought.

Soon, the desired sleep came.

"Tomorrow's the Showing!" Amira squealed.

"I'm going to let you meet your stylists!"

She took me to a room with a girl sitting in a chair.

Her hair was long and dark, her brown almond shaped eyes were lined with glittery purple liner, her lips had clear gloss on, and she looked a little over 20.

"Hi." I said.

"I'm Dani." she said.

"Evelyn," I said.

"Your facial features are very strong."

"Thanks, I guess?"

We both snickered.

"So, how do you feel?"

"I'm scared, but hopeful."

She nodded.

"You aren't like anyone else here. I can talk to you without feeling awkward."

"Thanks," she laughed.

"Tomorrow, I'm going to make you unforgettable."

"Promise?"

"Promise," she said with a smile.

I went outside to see Amira, Rayna, and Evan.

"So?" Amira asked.

"She was okay."
