nini laid back on her bed, her cheeks shining with tear stains and her eyes blood shot red
it was really late in the evening and nini only just managed to stop crying.
she didn't understand how everything became so messy all of a sudden.
she didn't understand how ricky could've done this so quickly. they didn't even properly talk and he just leaves her like that?
the girl heard her phone ringing and she shuddered a breath before taking the device to see a group facetime call from ashlyn, kourtney and seb
she shakily answers the call, tilting her phone up slightly so her face wasn't as visible
"neens?" ashlyn speaks up softly
they hear her sniffling, making their frowns deepen
"i'm so sorry girl, he's a tool." kourtney says
"i'm sure there's more to the story neens. the video-"
"it's not just the v-video." she tells them weakly
they look at her in confusion and she looks down as a tear rolls down her cheek
"i-i tried calling him- and quinn answered." she informs "a-and do you know why-ricky couldn't come to the phone?"
they all wait for her to speak up and nini closes her eyes as a few more tears fall down her face
"b-because he was in the shower." she squeaks
the three all sigh sadly and nini takes a few seconds to regain herself before kourtney speaks up again
"what do you want us to do?" she asks her
ashlyn wipes a tear that fell from her eye as she nods "yeah, do you want us to come over there?"
nini shakes her head quickly "n-no. i just-i need some time alone."
they all nod in understanding and she takes a deep breath
"i-i think i'm just going to go to bed." she says quietly
she hears the sympathetic goodbyes and smiles weakly to everyone before ending the call and lying back to face the ceiling
after a few moments, she looks beside her to the egg chair and the pink bean bag
flashback
"okay, if you could be one animal, what would you want to be?" the teenage brunette girl asks the curly-haired boy sitting on the bean bag in front of her
ricky laughs "why are we even doing this?" he asks, looking up at his girlfriend
nini giggles "because this magazine quiz determines whether or not we're a perfect couple-"
"hey, i put a justin bieber wig for you last week for halloween, i think that makes me more than a good boyfriend." he says
nini shakes her head with a smile "so, animal?"
he sighs "a penguin."
she stifles a laugh and nods "okay then-"
"what do you have against penguins?!" he exclaims offended
she shakes her head "nothing!"
a few seconds later, she isn't able to hold in her laugh and ricky smiles evilly as he brings his hands up around her waist and pulls her down off of the egg chair and onto him
she squeals and they both continue to laugh as they lay on the bean bag together in each other's arms, enjoying their carefree feeling

nini let out a breath as she turns her face back to look up at the ceiling, feeling her eyes slowly get heavier and heavier, until she finally falls asleep
