HARRY POTTER GUIDE. 39. Wizarding Schools: Koldovstoretz
Koldovstoretz (Russian: колдовсторец) was the Russian wizarding school. It was one of the eleven schools registered with the International Confederation of Wizards. Students from Koldovstoretz played a version of Quidditch where they flew on entire, uprooted trees instead of broomsticks.

History: The name of this school is derived from the Russian words koldovstvó, meaning 'magic, witchcraft, and wizardry' and tvoretz, meaning 'alcazar, royal palace'. It was founded by Antoniy Aristov, Viktoria Grigorieva, Alexandr Romanov, and Tatiana Voronina, who founded their own Houses: Aristov, Grigoriev, Romanov, and Voronin. There are no Heads of Houses, just two Heads of the entire school, who are currently Zian Sorokin and Katerina Tvardova. The school's exact location is unknown and is said to be unplottable.
Houses: Aristov (values positivity, passion, and kindness), Grigoriev (values honesty, dedication, strong will, and a longing for knowledge), Romanov (values originality and risk-taking), Voronin (values charisma, stubbornness, strategic minds, and are natural leaders, and often do not tolerate inefficiency and are viewed as rather cold).
Classes: Students are required to take the basics: Transfiguration, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, History of Magic, Potions, Herbology, and Astronomy. Flying is offered in the mornings or evenings, but it is not required. They can also take an Apparition class, which is not magical transportation but about ghouls, souls, and spirits. Koldovstoretz's Apparitions class can be taken as an elective or extracurricular class. Once students enter their third year, they select two elective classes and one extracurricular class. The following year is when they can choose to take their required Alchemy course. They must pass one Alchemy course between their fourth and seventh years. Quidditch is played but on entire uprooted trees instead of broomsticks.
