A Long Road Ahead

"he has a brain tumor".

"no he can't no no NO".I say collapsing to the ground.

"holly calm down".

"CALM DOWN! STOP TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN".

I burst into tears as cameron is trying to comfort me.

"wh-why him".

"I don't know Holly".

"I don't understand".

I look up and see my mom sitting right beside my dad with her head in her lap.

"umm when is the surgery".

"we are taking him away right now".

"ok".

The push the bed that my dad is in down a long hallway. He turns and I lost sight of him.

"mom are you ok".

"n-n-no I am not. I am a complete mess".

"mom it's ok we get through this together".I say with tears continuing to pour down my face.

"I know I know but it is all do hard to process".

"yea what about me, I am pregnant, my house is full of strangers and I have a dad who has a tumor!".

"I know it's hard for all of us".

I pull my phone out of my pocket and a banner says...

~Doctors appointment tomorrow 12:00~

"who was that Holly". Asks Cameron looking over my shoulder.

"nothing just reminding me I have a doctors appointment tomorrow at twelve".

"oh yea I'm working and your mom will probably be here. Who is going to take you".

"um, I don't know I think I might ask Paige to come with me".

"that sounds like a good idea baby". My mom says.

"well you know I could always take a day off work to see my precious child".

"cam your not missing work we need the money and I'll be fine it's not like anything will go wrong. They just will do what they did last time".

"ok your sure".

"yes I'm sure".

We sat there all so quiet that all you could here was the DING DING DING of machines.

"umm I'm going to call Paige now".

"ok honey you do that I'll talk to cameron".

I walk a little bit down the hall to a row of little seats. I sit down and dial Paige's number.

"hi Paige it's Holly".

"Hi Holly how are you".

"not good".

"why? Did something happen to the baby. Did you kill it".

"no it's not to me or the baby".

"then who...Cameron!".

"No my dad".

"what".

"he has a brain tumor".

"holy crap no way! Is he ok. Does he need surgery".

"he is in surgery now and doctors day he should be just fine".
