Chapter Twenty-Three| Cyrus
⚡️

"What did I fucking tell you?!" Camil shouts and I glare at him.

"Now is really not the time." I shout back and begin to search for my girl. "Fuck!" I cough because of the smoke and squint my eyes.

"Maybe Yasmine took her outside." Camil speaks out and I bite my lip in worry, thinking the worse.

What if she got caught in the explosion? What if she's dead?!

My breathing starts to increase as I spin around looking at the commotion. The screams of other people filling my ears.

My phone begins to ring and a huge sigh of relief escapes my lips when I see Marnie's name.

"Baby, are you okay?! Where are you?!" I rush out and head for the entrance of the club.

"I'm outside with Yasmine. We're okay, where are you?!" She panics and I reassure her that I'm also okay.

She tells me exactly where she is and Camil and I make our way outside. As soon as I see her, I don't hesitate to rush over. I pull her into a tight hug, pushing her head against my chest.

"I'm okay." She reassures. I'm sure she can feel my heart racing, the thought of losing her makes me sick to my stomach. "Cyrus." She tries to pull away but I keep a tight hold on her.

"Taxi is here." Yasmine speaks up and I nod my head, picking Marnie up. She wraps her legs around my waist and I climb into the back of the car, keeping her on my lap.

Yasmine climbs in next to us and Camil gets in the front.

"Cyrus?" Marnie whispers, running her fingers through my hair. "Are you alright?" I stare at my girl, just grateful that nothing happened to her. She sighs when I don't respond and decides to rest her head on my shoulder.

We drop Yasmine home first before we shortly make it back to our house. Much to my disappointment, Marnie climbs off of my lap and walks herself back into the house, kicking her heels off by the door.

"You okay, Cam?" She questions my brother and he nods his head. I loosen my tie and wrap my arm around Marnie's waist.

"I need to talk with you later." I tell my brother and then lead Marnie to our bedroom, I then walk into the bathroom and sit her down on the toilet seat.

I begin to run the bath and watch silently as the water pours into the tub. "Undress, pretty baby." I whisper and hear her begin to shuffle behind me.

As soon as the bath is full I strip myself and step into it and sit down. I grab hold of Marnie's hand and she steps in also, situating herself in front of me.

"Cyrus, you've barely said anything." She whispers into the silence and I sigh, burying my face into her back.

"I could have lost you." I mumble and she sighs, leaning back against me and I tighten my arm around her waist, not wanting her to disappear.

"I'm okay." She turns her head and shows me her beautiful smile. "It must of been some crazy accident." I slowly nod my head.

I have a feeling this is no accident but I don't want to worry her.

"You're not hurt?" I question her and she shakes her head.

"Cyrus?"

"Hmmm."

"I love you." My heart skips a beat at her words. "I love you, so much." She sniffles and my eyes widen when I realise she's crying.

"Hey, baby! Why are you crying?!" I whisper with a smile on my face, tilting her head to face me. She sniffles again and smiles lightly.

"I was so scared that something had happened to you and then I was thinking if something had happened to you, I wouldn't of been able to of told you how I felt." She whimpers and I press a kiss on her forehead.

"I'm so in love with you, woman." I lightly chuckle. "So, so in love." I bury my face into her neck and begin to place light kisses, making her giggle.

"Cyrus, that tickles!" She laughs loudly the water beginning to splash around us.

"I'm never letting you go." I laugh with her.

We calm down after a couple minutes and just enjoy each other's presence.

"Do you really think it was an accident? Be honest with me Cyrus." She whispers and I sigh.

"No, I don't think it was an accident. Camil had a bad feeling just before it happened and I completely ignored it like the idiot I am." I say in frustration, angry with myself that I put Marnie and my cousin in harms way.

"Do you think it has something to do with your dad?"

"Most likely, pretty baby." I reply and she huffs.

"No offence but I hate him."

"None taken." I chuckle and then she begins to yawn.

"You tired?" I question in amusement as I feel her beginning to fall asleep against my chest.

It baffles me how quickly she falls asleep.

"Hmmm." Is her only reply.

We get out of the bath before she can actually fall asleep. I dry her off as she just stares at me with tired eyes making me smirk. I then place her into our bed where she doesn't hesitate to fall asleep.

"Goodnight, baby." I whisper, kissing her forehead.

Once I've thrown on some clothes I walk back downstairs and just see Camil finishing a phone call.

"Who was that?" I question, taking a seat at the kitchen island table. He doesn't reply and rubs his stubble in frustration. "Camil, what is it?"

He looks at me and bites his lips.

"We are absolutely fucked."

"What do you mean, 'we are absolutely fucked'?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"It was that piece of shit! He was the reason for the explosion and he wants all of us dead and that's including Marnie." Camil says in exhaustion. "He's coming for us, bro."
