Ch. 23

                                                            Gracie POV

After the darkness I open my eyes again and see a bright light, I blink a few times and see doctors and nurses hovering over me, 

"Look who's awake, Gracie your going to be just fine," The doctor said 

He went to leave but I grabbed his wrist, he looked at me strangely

"I need you to do something for me," I said in a raspy voice 

Everyone looked at me funny, 

"What is that?" He said 

"I need you to tell the FBI agents that I didn't make it," I said 

Everyone in the room became silent, 

"Gracie we can't do that," He said 

"Please, Please, if he escapes again, a lot of kids are going to get killed again," I said in a raspy voice 

All the Doctors looked at each other, 

"Gracie..." The doctor said 

"Please, just do this for me, I don't want anyone to get hurt because of him again," I said 

They looked hesitant, but then the lead doctor nodded, 

"Okay, only because you saved a lot of kids by stepping in," He said 

"But.." The nurse said 

He looked at her sternly and shook his head, 

                                      Rossi POV

The surgeon walked out taking his mask off, we all stood up, 

"I'm sorry to inform you but...she didn't make it," He said 

My eyes got wide, 

"We did everything we could, I'm sorry," The doctor said 

I sat back down, not believing it, I had to take deep breaths, 

I look over to see the team in the same state, 

"Gracie..." I said almost in tears, 

                                              Gracie POV 

I'm in a private room, the doctor walked in, 

"Gracie you need to know a few things," He said sternly, 

I nodded, 

"The bullet, it grazed your heart," He said 

My eyes got wide, 

"So how did I.." I said 

"Survive we don't know, but you are occasionally going to feel plenty of discomfort in your chest, due to the scar tissue on your heart," He said 

"Part of the bullet also got lodged in your lung, and we had to remove it, so you are going to have some breathing issues due to that also," He said 

I nodded 

"As soon as you are healed we will discharge you as a Jane Doe so no one can trace that you are alive," He said 

"Thank you, I really appreciate it," I said 

"Like I said I wouldn't risk this, but due to the fact you put yourself in danger just to save so many other kids I consider this a token as my gratitude," He said 

I nodded with that he walked out, 

You see I thought long and hard about this when I thought I was going to die, in order to ensure every kid's safety Gracie Grey had to die tonight, 

So Scott wouldn't come looking for me ever again, so when he does emerge he won't expect me to be alive, I thought as I looked up at the ceiling slowly closing my eyes
