Can we close our eyes for a minute?
Pretend that everything's alright
The sky might have a rainbow in it
We might see the stars at night
Can we close our eyes for a moment?
Pretend our ruins are palaces
Our rags are riches
Our tears are laughter
Can we close our eyes for an hour?
Pretend our lives are fine
The sticks we walk with are magic
That death is not what we fear
We can live another day
We can live another way
We can live in our own worlds
If we just pretend
