The Girl I Loved

Why did they have to do this to us how could someone be so thoughtless?

They were so reckless and so selfish.

They knew together we were happy.

 Why did they have to take you away from me?

You were the girl I loved I couldn't afford to lose you 

I loved you, what did I do to deserve this?

Is this the life I was meant to live in?

What you did has left my heart darkened. 

When you took away the girl I loved.

Now I see that our system is broken.

Why should I leave this the way it is?

Why did you have to talk instead of choosing to listen?

You turned this into something that's scandalous.

I realize now that I have to finish what she started.

I can't stand being in the world with you anymore, you left me broken-hearted.

Why was she killed for the pettiest reason, because you had to call what we did treason. 

Because of this my soul has been changed, because of your actions it's rearranged.

Why did you do this to us? You knew we were happy but you only did what's best for you.

I will make sure that some day you will pay your do for the girl I loved.

(pause for instrumental)

This is not a time for familial bliss, I will not stand for this.

I will make sure to prevail for her life, to make sure not to fight for pain and strife.

If that's what it takes then I'll take the chance no matter how high the stakes may be.

The love we had is lost with them, now at second glance traitors is all I see.

I will no longer let all this hate push me around or let my heart be shoved.

This is because you took away the girl I loved.

(pause for insturmental) 

All this has shown me is that the grass isn't always greener, but that's not what matters here.

I bet you know one would even notice if I had to go and disappear. 

But if it's for what I believe is to be right, is it wrong or right?

if so then I guess I have to leave them and be out of their sight.
